January Favourites 2017

Hey Whisperers,

A new year, a new series. Over the past few months I've loved reading peoples favourite posts and so i decided that this year i am going to do monthly favourite posts too (call me a sheep, i can't help but love them) each month I'm going to be talking about my top five products I've used that month and why I've loved them. I hope you enjoy this new series. These are my January Favourites.

January Favourites 2017

The first and probably my biggest favourite this month is the Zoeva Caramel Melange palette, i got this palette a week ago and it has pretty much become my go to eye shadow palette. It has amazing shades with incredible pigmentation, for a full review and swatches click here to read my review. This palette retails at £18 so it isn't the cheapest of palettes but it is 100% worth the money, click here to purchase it from Cult Beauty.

This Sleek Solstice highlighting palette has been my go to palette for a few months now and i can't see that changing any time soon, between the incredible pigment and gorgeous packaging this palette really is just everything a girl who loves glow needs. I love using the purple shade as an inner corner highlight as it just adds a little more to any makeup look, i still haven't used much of the cream highlight as I'm still not too sure of how to use it on my cheeks so if you have any tips for liquid/cream highlighters let me know. Click here to purchase this palette from Superdrug.

I saw this primer on a Wayne Goss video  (watch that video here)where he basically hyped this up to the moon and back and made it impossible for me not to get. The Ordinary High-Adherence Silicone Primer is a silicone primer that blurs and smooths out my skin like nothing i have ever tried before. Even though it is a silicone primer it doesn't have the 'greasy' kind of feel like other silicone primers do which i love. The price of this is also insane as it is only £3.60. Click here to purchase it from Victoria Health.

This L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes mascara is amazing. Now I'm the kind of girl that layers mascaras, no matter how good they are they just don't seem big enough until i layer them and although this mascara is no different i still love it. The brush is so flexible and thin that you can get right into the inner corner and it also works amazingly on the bottom lashes. This mascara separates and lengthen the lashes so well and for £9.99 it's amazing. Click here to purchase the mascara from Superdrug

As most of you know, i love my Colourpop Super shock shadows, read my review on them and other Colourpop products here, but over the past month i have fell in love with this Super shock shadow in Blaze. It is such a unique bronze shade that looks incredible on the eyes. The amount of pigmentation and shimmer in these shadows never fails to impress me, it's amazing and touching them literally feels like touching a marshmallow it's incredible. Click here to purchase this shadow  from Colourpop.

So those were my January favourites, i found it so hard to decide on just five products but i didn't want to make this post too long. I am absolutely in love with each and every one of these products and i can't wait to write next months favourite post!

What are your beauty favourites this month? Let me know in the comments down below.

Zoeva Caramel Melange Palette Review and Swatches

Hey Whisperers,

If you follow me on twitter you'll  know that i have pretty much been obsessed with this palette since it arrived at my door on Tuesday. Now i'm pretty much a palette hoarder, and i'm sure that i probably already have these shades in my collection somewhere, but i couldn't help but buy this palette when i saw it on the Beauty Bay website, the palette I'm talking about is obviously the Zoeva Caramel Melange palette, and as per usual i couldn't get a new makeup product without testing it for you guys, i did try to link the palette on Beauty Bay but it is no longer available so i have instead linked Cult Beauty, anyways i hope you enjoy the review and lets get into it!

Like i said i ordered my palette of Beauty Bay where it retails for £18. Personally i don't think that £18 is too much for a palette of this size as it does have 10 shades making it only £1.80 per shade which i think is great. One thing i do have to praise is the delivery of this palette, i ordered it on a Sunday night  and it arrived early on Tuesday morning not even 48 hours later, it was packaged in not only regular bubble wrap but also in a protective cardboard sleeve, which I've never seen before. Alongside this the delivery was also free.

The actual  packaging of this palette is absolutely gorgeous, it's a beautiful milk chocolate/caramel  colour with a gold pattern on it and i am obsessed. The palette itself isn't very heavy but it is made out of cardboard, which isn't my favourite, but may also be why it isn't very heavy. The palette itself is also quite thin, which i absolutely love as it is so easy to fit in drawers, makeup bags and even a handbag if you need to.

The shades in this palette are ultimately why i brought it, they're gorgeous. Now I'm not a natural eyes kind of girl i pretty much wear a full eye look daily because eye makeup is my favourite thing to do but this palette just called to me. As i previously said there's 10 shades, 6 are matte and 4 are shimmer which i think is a great balance of the two, now what you've been waiting for...the swatches.

Every shade in this palette has an insane amount of pigment which honestly i wasn't expecting. I've heard great things about the Zoeva palettes but i have pretty much been blown away. These shadows are so buttery and soft and they blend out so easily, but once you've got them blended they aren't budging at all. 182 °,  Start Soft and Finish Sensual are three of my absolute favourites from this palette not only are they some of the most buttery shades but they look incredible on the eyes. When using the palette you only need a tiny amount of the product because they pigmentation is so amazing so i definitely thing that it is worth the money.

Overall I'm pretty much in love with this palette, between the beautiful packaging and incredible shades it's pretty much become a must have palette for me. If you're looking for a new palette to add to your collection, or a palette to start of your collection i definitely recommend this one!

Have you tried any of the Zoeva palettes? If so did you like them?

My Travel Bucketlist

Hey Whisperers,

I have always loved travelling, whether it being local or abroad i love visiting new places. Over the past few years I've come up with a list of places that i would love to visit and i thought that today i would share them with you. I hope you enjoy

Florida

I visited Orlando when i was younger but i can't really remember much of it. I really want to go back and visit Disney World and Epcot. I want to visit the Harry Potter world at Universal and take a 101 pictures of every single thing i do. I want to go shopping and spend way too much money on memorabilia. I pretty much want to have the typical Disney Experience.

Alaska

Alaska is beautiful. I would love to visit during the winter when you can see the northern lights. I think that visiting all of the amazing woodlands and lakes would be amazing and i mean come on imagine the pictures. The wild life in Alaska is also incredible so i would love to visit some sanctuaries too. I have a massive obsession with Wolves and Bears and there's so many amazing opportunities to see and even meet them (walking with wolves is my number 1 dream)

New York

New York at Christmas is my dream. Visiting New York has been a huge dream of mine since i was little, between the incredible shops and huge sky scrapers i am just in love with everything about it. I think that visiting New York is something that a lot of people dream of it just seems like such an incredible place to visit.

Brighton

This one is a little closer to home. I have always wanted to visit Brighton but i just never have. Between the lanes and the gorgeous beach i just think that it would be a fun trip to take. I would love to visit Chocywockydodar (aka the most incredible chocolate shop ever) and the beach huts too.

Paris

After studying French in school i always thought that Paris looked beautiful. I would love to visit the Eiffel Tower and Disneyland Paris, i just think that the whole trip would be incredible. Paris has some amazing museums to which i would love to visit too

I can't wait to travel more over the next few years, hopefully I'll get the chance to visit some of these amazing places. I hope you enjoyed this post, is there anywhere you want to visit? Let me know below

My Favourite Blogger Chats

Hey Whisperers,

The blogging community is an amazing place and with the blogging community comes twitter chats. When i first started taking part in twitter chats i used them to meet other bloggers but over the past 8-9 months they've become something i've loved taking part in to learn about new things in the blogging world too. There are so many amazing twitter chats online now and they're growing more and more each day so i thought i would let you know about 3 of my favourite twitter chats that i think are must join.

My Top 3 Twitter Chats

I may be a tad biased on this one as i hosted the chat a few weeks ago but GRLPOWR chats are probably some of the most fun chats I've ever taken part in. The GRLPOWR chats take part every Tuesday at 9 pm, Thursday at 8 pm and Sunday at 9 pm. I love the fact that there's 3 chats a week as if you're busy one day you know there's another chat in a few days. GRLPOWR itself is a bloggers community 'created by bloggers for bloggers' where bloggers can connect and share their posts, it's definitely one of my all time favourite twitter pages.

Now if any of you are night owls like me staying up till way past midnight is just the norm. Moon-chat is a chat created by Claire aka Grab Your Camera that takes part at midnight every Friday. Much like the GRLPOWR chats there is a new topic each week and lasts for an hour. I haven't taken part in the chat for a while because I've been ill on and off since the start of December  but hopefully now things are starting to chill out a bit I'll be taking part more.

Now this chat is one that i haven't taken part in for awhile but is still one of my faves. The Girl Gang is a twitter page created by Dorkfaceblog (aka Jemma aka one of the best bloggers ever) alike the GRLPOWR page The Girl Gang shares tweets and posts throughout the week, and hosts a chat Mondays at 6 pm. The chats range in topic each week which i love, i give props to the people hosting these chats coming up with a new topic every week would drive me insane.

So those were my Top 3 Twitter chats, if you're new to blogging or even just a long time blogger i highly recommend joining twitter chats, they open a whole new world of blogging for you. I have met some amazing friends through these chats and they've helped me get me blog out there for the world to see. I hope you've enjoyed this post, don't forget to check out the twitter chat list i put together below or check it out on twitter here.

Do you take part in any Twitter chats? If so what are your favourites?

Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask - Product Review

Hey Whisperers,

Blackheads are something that mock all us skincare lovers, no matter how many nose strips and face masks we go through they never seem to be completely cleaned out, but today I'm going to introduce you to a unique product that works better than any kind of face mask or pore strip that I've ever tried so lets get into it.

The product I'm talking about is the Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Mask. I found this mask in TKMaxx for £9.99 for 100 ml which although not the cheapest, isn't too bad as you honestly don't need much of this mask to cover your whole face. This mask does pretty much what the name says it bubbles up on the face and creates a foamy mask on your skin. This mask pretty much wins the award for the cutest packaging too i mean look at how cute that pig is.

Stages Of The Mask

The mask applies like any other clay mask just a little more jelly like. I used both the mini spatula included in the mask and my fingers to apply it. As you can see from the swatch it pretty much starts to foam straight away.

This is the mask when it has fully foamed, looking at it here it doesn't look very carbonated but the foam was around 1/2 a centimetre off my wrist. While the foam is foaming your face will tickle and your eyes will water as you obviously cant scratch it which does feel strange but don't touch it too early.

Once the mask has been on for around 5 minutes push the mask back into the skin and leave for another 4-5 minutes. It doesn't say to do this on the packaging however, after watching a few people do this on YouTube i chose to do it too. You will get a bunch of mask on your hands but it washes off your hands with a warm water.

After another 5 minutes the mask foams back up a little, this is when you wash it off. I suggest using your hands instead of a cloth as it is a lot easier to remove when massaging it into the skin with your hands. It is also quite messy so it will take awhile to wash out of your face cloth.

Overall Thoughts

Once i had washed off this mask my skin felt incredible, i have used a lot of face masks but my face has never felt this smooth and clean. Looking up close at my blackheads i noticed that a lot of them had either been drawn out or they had been mostly pulled out (for those i used my blackhead tool and removed them with little to no effort). It was amazing. Even today a day later my skin still looks very refreshed. This mask does make your skin feel tight which i loved, i am also ill at the moment so my skin was dry after using the mask (which i don't think was the mask as me and Georgia used it at the same time and her skin wasn't dry) but after using my usual night time moisturisers my face felt amazing. I definitely think that this mask is worth the try even if it's just for the experience as it is fun to watch it bubble up. The mask is not avaliable online from TKMaxx but they do have it in store alongside a variety of other Elizavecca products or you can get it from amazon.

I hope you've enjoyed this post, have you ever tried a bubble mask?
Did you like it?  Let me know down below

Birchbox Unboxing - January 2017

Hey Whisperers,

It still feels so weird typing 2017, it feels like 2016 only started yesterday but here we are one year later and one Birchbox later too. I loved getting my Birchbox over the past 4 months so instead of cancelling my subscription in December like i initially planned I decided to keep it. So here we are un-boxing the January edition of Birchbox and it's a good one.

What Is Birchbox?

If you're new to Birchbox, Birchbox is a monthly subscription box that you receive each month with 5 products to try out. The products can range from sample size to full size and they also range in price. All products in the box can be found on the Birchbox website where the box is purchased for £12.95 each month.

What I Got This Month

Lord and Berry Conceal-it Crayon in Ivory
RRP - £12.00   Full Size

I saw that this concealer was going to be part of this months box on twitter and i was super excited. I received a Lord and Berry lipstick a few boxes ago and i love it. Although i did receive what I'm guessing is the lightest shade it is still a little bit too dark for me so I've passed it on to my sister to use.

NUXE Multi-Use Dry Oil Shimmer
RRP - £21

When i first saw this i thought it was a nail varnish but then i saw it was a dry oil and i was more curious than excited. I'd never tried a dry oil before this but after swatching it on my arm I've fallen in love with it. It adds the perfect amount of moisture to the skin and it also leaves a beautiful shimmer behind too.

Merci Handy Hand Cream in New Wave
RRP £4.90  Full Size

Now I'm not the biggest fan of hand creams, i love the Zoella one but that's pretty much it. But when i tried this i fell in love. This hand cream is so thin and it sinks into the hands so well instead of leaving them greasy, it also has small blue beads in it that melt on your skin, on the back they're described as tiny beads that will soften your hands and melt your heart, i love it! This hand cream also smells incredible and I'll definitely be purchasing one when i finish using it.

Naobay HydraPlus Cream
RRP £19.50

I wasn't really that excited by this product as i had already received 2 moisturising products. This body cream is natural and organic and although it does make it 3 moisturising products it is the perfect size for travelling. It doesn't have the best scent but it does feel really hydrating and it absorbs well into the skin too.

Whish Shave Crave Shaving Cream in Acai Grapefruit
RRP £14.80

I was quite excited when i saw this product in my box, anything to help keep my legs smooth, soft and hair free is amazing in my book. This shaving cream feels so soft on the skin. it includes Shea butter and coconut oil alongside other ingredients so i am hoping it will help keep  my legs moisturised too. The smell of this shaving cream is something that i have not yet decided if i like yet, it pretty much smells like Calpol which although isn't bad, it is a strange smell for a bath product.

Total RRP for this month's Box

£72.20

Overall i am quite happy about this months box, i can't wait to try out the shaving cream and the hand cream. I do however wish that they had added a wider variety of products instead of making the whole box a box of  moisturisers, I have found that this does seem to be a common thing each month where the box is either overloaded with hair or moisturising products which kind of sucks, however i did receive two full size products this month which both make the box worth getting!

If you want to join Birchbox use my link here to get £5 off your first box!

Thanks for reading,
Love,

My Blogging 2017 Goals

Hey Whisperers,

Every new year comes with new goals. Last year my goal was to start a blog and it was the best decision I've ever made. This year my goal is to be happy, but i also have a few blog goals to and so today i thought i would share them with you! I hope you enjoy. Happy 2017, I've already decided that it's going to be a great year.

2017 Blogging Goals

Improve and invest in my photography.

Looking back over my posts i don't hate my photography but i don't love it either. I love how my blog looks but i do think that improving the quality of my pictures will help it look that little bit better. Over the next few months i am hoping to buy lighting , a tripod and I also plan to set up an area in my house for taking pictures so that i can keep my photography looking good.

Join in more twitter chats.

I used to join in so many twitter chats but for some reason i just stopped joining in. I hosted a twitter chat on the last Sunday and  i absolutely loved it so i am hoping to get back into them. Twitter chats helped me find so many new blogs and friends so i can't wait to see what i find this year.  If you have any twitter chats you love taking part in tweet me them over on twitter!

Include more of me in my posts.

Over the past year i haven't really shown much of me in my posts. Over the next year i want to add more of my personality into my posts, making them more personal and open. I think in the beginning i found it hard to be myself because i was scared of how people would judge but after blogging for almost a year now i have noticed that the blogging community is an amazing community to be a part of and that i shouldn't be afraid to let my personality shine through

Be more active on Social Media

Now if you know me you know that i love twitter, but because of this my Facebook and Instagram pages have been sitting in the shadows pretty much untouched. In 2017 i want to become more active on Facebook and Instagram, sharing my posts and behind the scenes action on there too. I want to be able to communicate with you guys more too and i think that this will help, so don't forget to check out my pages by clicking the contact me button at the top of the page.

Grow my blog

I think that this goal is one that all bloggers have. I have been blogging now for almost a year and i am constantly amazed by how much my blog has grown but, like all bloggers, i do hope to grow it more this year. It has been amazing seeing my blog change and grow over the past year and i can't wait so see how much it will grow this year.

Self Host

At some point throughout the next 6 months i want to get my own domain and make my blog self hosted. I think that having a self hosting blog just makes everything easier to work around and i also think it looks more professional too.

I hope you guys have enjoyed this post on my 2017 blogging goals. Do you have any goals for your blog this year? If so let me know below.

Thanks for reading.

Faver.co.uk aka My New Favourite Website

Hey Whisperers,

I've got a new obsession and as you guys know, every time I become obsessed with something I had to let you know about it. This post is going to be about something a little different from what I’m usually obsessed with as it isn't a new beauty product, or song but is instead a website. I know you guys are going to love this website as much as I do so I thought I would share it with you! A few weeks ago, the creator of Faver emailed me and asked me if i would look at the website and write a post on it, at first I wasn't going to because it isn't the kind of content I usually post but after I started using the website and pretty much becoming obsessed with it too I couldn't help but post about it. I am in love with this website and although I was asked to write a post on it all opinions in this post are my own, I just wanted to let you guys know that I was approached to write this post just so you know from the get go! So, let’s get into it

Faver.co.uk

What is Faver?

Faver is a personal gift finder and a discovery marketplace, now if like me you have no idea what that means, I would pretty much call Faver an even better version of Pinterest, but for products. Yes, a big statement I know, but honestly, it's amazing. I have spent hours on Pinterest pinning stuff and wanting to try it out yet I’m stuck with no links, no prices and it's pretty much like being shown something then having someone say 'well you can't actually have it' and it drives me nuts. On Faver you don't have that issue, everything on the site is linked which is amazing.

I have been using Faver for just over a week and I have way too many products pinned that either I want or I know people I like will enjoy. Something I love about the site is fact that you can create lists (much like Pinterest boards) to list different products you like, I love this as it allows you to categorise products into different areas such as birthdays, holidays etc.  To use Faver you do have to link it to your Facebook account, which sometimes I hate but in this case I love it. If you're anything like me, finding presents for people is something you hate doing so being able to see what they've liked on Faver is a big help.

I'm pretty much obsessed with this website, so much so that I ended up taking an hour-long break while writing this post just so I could like more things on there. I know this post is a little different to what I normally write but I thought I would share it with you anyway. If you sign up to Faver don't forget to share your favourite things with me on Twitter!

I hope you've enjoyed this post and don't forget to check out Faver online and on Twitter too!

Easy Demaq - Product Review

Hey Whisperers,

So as most of you know i have an obsession with TKMaxx. I love it. So the other week when i was shopping in Dudley i popped in and had a quick look to see what was in there. £21 later i walked out with a bunch of stuff i didn't really need, one thing being the Elite Models Easy Demaq Cloth. The Easy Demaq Cloth, if you haven't heard of it like i hadn't is a makeup remover cloth. I wasn't quite sure what i thought of it when i picked it up, but for £2.99 i thought i would give it a try. The whole idea of this product intrigued me so i thought I'd share my thoughts about it with you guys too, so lets get into the review.

Easy Demaq Review

Now the feel of this cloth alone made me want to buy it, it is the most soft and velvety cloth i've ever felt, but that isn't the main reason why i brought it. On the packaging this cloth says it can remove even waterproof makeup without any kind of makeup remover..erm..WHAT. When i read this i knew that i had to get it and try it out. If you've seen any of my pictures on twitter *shameless self promo alert *link to my twitter here you probably know that i am a full face of makeup kinda girl so the thought of this cloth was amazing to me. I did get this mask discounted for £2.99 from TKMaxx however it isn't on their online store so i can't link it, if you want to try it out i suggest popping into your local store, or you could also try out the Makeup Revolution alternitive here which is a little more pricey at £10.

Lets Try It Out

Before

The cloth itself is a cute pastel pink colour and like i previously said it's incredibly soft. For me i think it is the perfect size, it covers my entire face and it is super easy to fold so getting under and close to the eyes is easy, however the colour is something that worries me. Since getting this cloth i have looked online and found a few other kinds of these cloths and most of them are a lot darker so i am quite worried that this one will stain and look gross.

After

As you can see by the colour of the cloth it took off the majority of my makeup. Now recently I've been loving glitter liner and matte liquid lipsticks and if any of you guys have worn them you know how hard they are to get off, this cloth took them off in one wipe. One freaking wipe. All i added to the cloth was warm water and it wiped everything off my face with little to no effort. The makeup on the cloth does look quite dark which did worry me but now I've cleaned it with a little shampoo (like i do with my makeup brushes) it is pretty much back to the original colour apart from a few grey stains.

Results-

Overall opinions

I absolutely love this product, even using a clean makeup wipe after i was left with no makeup on the wipe which is amazing. My skin felt super soft after using it and although i didn't have much confidence in this product i am so glad i picked it up. I will definitely be using this product a lot especially when I'm working later nights, however i don't think that it is something you should use daily just because i do think that using face washes clean deeper than the cloth can. Overall, if you want a cheap, quick and easy way too take off your makeup this cloth is an amazing option

I hope you've enjoyed this review. Have you ever tried a makeup removing cloth? Did it work for you? Let me know in the comments below

Hello 2017

Hey Whisperers,

New Year, New me? Now we all know that this time of year brings out everyone's hope of changing. The facebook paragraphs that feel like they're never going to end, the tweets about how much people are going to do... and then we get to December 31st and realise that we've done almost nothing off our never ending list of yearly resolutions. It's the same every year. I don't know if it is just something we feel like we have to do or if people do really want to achieve these resolutions but each year my list just seems to get shorter and shorter. This year i only have one resolution. One resolution that i am determined to keep, achieve and carry on.

My new year's resolution is to be happy.

Over the past few years I've found it so easy to fall into the slump that is sadness. The oh so warm and comforting feeling of being sad. It's so easy to go online, sit on tumblr and relate to every post i see. But it's not what I want to be doing anymore. I want to be happy. I want to wake up early, I want to go out on my days off work, i want to do things that everyone else does. I want to exercise more and get fit, I want to meet new people and i do think that all of this will make me happy.

Last year was probably the weirdest year of my life. A year when i went through so many changes. I had to restart my life, without my friends around. I had to find a place where i belonged and i feel like i finally have. I've met so many amazing people over the past year and I've still got my friends from before. Friends that i will never let go because they are truly the most amazing people i know. But this year i want to change even more.

2016 was hard for me, but like always I've survived. I've learnt from my mistakes, I've grown so much as a person and i've learnt to look at things differently. 2016 was also the year that i finally decided to start a blog and it was one of the best decisions i have ever made. I have met so many incredible people, I've become friends with people that this time last year i didn't even know existed and I've become even better friends with people i already knew. The blogging community has been amazing over the past few months and i can't wait to become more involved in it as time goes on. If my blog continues to take off as it has over the past few months then that would be incredible but if it doesn't and my progress stops here i am so proud that my little corner of the Internet even made it this far.

So yeah my new year's resolution isn't to be a new person, a new me. It isn't the normal loose weight (although losing a few pounds wouldn't go amiss). It is just to be happy.

I hope you've enjoyed this post, let me know what your new years resolution is down below!

Happy New Year Here's To 2017

Love
Soph
