Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

Dear Whisperers,

Merry Christmas!!

I can't believe i made it through Blogmas, it's literally a Christmas miracle. This past month has been so busy but I've loved every moment of it. It's now Christmas Eve and Blogmas is officially over. I was going to post this post tomorrow but i decided that i would finish my Blogmas posts on Christmas Eve this year instead.

I've also decided that I'm going to take the next week to just chill out and re-group my blogging thoughts, but before i left i just wanted to say Thank You, for not only reading my posts over the past few weeks but also over the past year. This year has been amazing for my blog, it grew from practically nothing into something amazing. My blog turned 1 this year and since then it's just got better and better. I wrote my first sponsored post this year, which was INCREDIBLE. I worked with a few companies on posts and I've just had tonnes of fun being able to express my love to all things beauty.

Without you guys reading, none of what I've done this year would have been possible. So here's to you. I can't wait to come back in the new year and grow my blog even more!

Merry Christmas Whisperers!

Love,
Soph

5 Christmas Pins I Want To Try Next Year

13:30:00 1
5 Christmas Pins I Want To Try Next Year

Hey Whisperers,

I'm pretty much obsessed with Pintrest, I could spend all day just pinning things to different boards it's just so satisfying, so today i thought that I'd share a few of my favourite Christmas pins that i want to try out next year. I was going to say this year but lets be honest, there's 3 days left till Christmas and I'm lucky if i have the energy to walk up to bed after work never mind baking or crafting....so lets leave these for next year!

5 Christmas Pins I Want To Try Next Year

Photo sourced from Pin link to webpage below

I've had these brownies pinned for quite a while and when i saw Erinn's blog post on them (read her post here) a few days ago, i wanted to make them even more. Brownies are some of my favourite desserts so i know that I'd love the taste of them. The whole process also seems pretty simple which is also a huge plus because come on how can i really fuck up a pin that has like 6 steps?

Tree Card

I've always wanted to make my own Christmas cards but i mess up pretty much every crafty thing that i do. When i came across this pin i fell in love, i love the tree's, the little quote and i love, love, love the brown card. It looks like it would be super simple to re-create too which is great. I'm definitely going to be spending a lot of time in Hobby Craft next Christmas.

Santa Hat Cupcakes

I adore baking it's one of my favourite hobbies and cupcakes are one of my all time favourite things to bake so these Santa Hat Cupcakes where a must for today's post. These cupcakes look super simple to make (which is  a must for me) but they also look super cute when they're finished! I'm definitely going to be making these next year....and maybe making a blogmas post about them too?

Frosted Mason Jars

I love the look of these jars! This time next year my room will be re-decorated and these jars are going to match the theme perfectly. I love how simple they are to make (i say that now) and how you can personalise them so easily. Mason jars are also quite cheap to get so hopefully it won't cost too much to make either.

Hot Chocolate On A Stick

I've seen these in stores for ages, and i guess it would be easier to just buy them, but i want to make them. They seem so simple to make and i think that making them will just add that extra personal touch. Just like the mason jars you can customise these so easily to match your favourite flavours, which i love. You do have to mix them with milk, which some people may hate, so if you're looking into doing these too, just know they do only work well with milk.

Christmas is almost over and I'm already planning for next year, whats new! I hope you've enjoyed today's post! If you want to follow me on Pinterest click here, i share my blog posts and i also have a few boards that i keep pretty well updated too!

Happy Blogmas Day 22

Last Minute Gift Guide

13:30:00 0
Last Minute Gift Guide

Hey Whisperers,

If you're anything like me, you literally leave everything to the last minute (just like this post that I'm writing the day before it goes live), and so today i thought I'd put together a quick Last Minute Gift Guide for you guys. I haven't really based this post on any specific gender but it will probably end up being more female based as i have 0 clue what guys like so i apologise in advance if it is all girly gifts! So lets get into it!!

Last Minute Gift Guide

£15

Can you ever really have too many Pyjamas? I don't think you can. These Miffy ones from Primark are such a perfect Christmas gift, they're super soft and snuggly and they're perfect for this time of year. I'm not too sure if these ones do, but Primark does some super cute boxed Pyjamas, so not only do you get some adorable Pyjamas wrapping them will be super easy. These pyjama's are also super affordable, which is always good when it comes to last minute gifts! So if you're looking for a quick, cute gift these are perfect.

£4.50

I've put Golden Wonder, but honestly, any Lush bath bomb/bubble bar is a great gift. I tend to get my friends 1 - 3 bath bombs every Christmas because they're such perfect gifts. I will say however, some of the smells aren't for everyone so for gifts I'd stick to the most popular products, apart from Golden Wonder I'd suggest bath bombs such as ; Twilight , Butterbear, Dragons Egg and Avobath. I think Lush is a perfect gift for anyone, they have so many incredible products that they literally have something for everyone so it's definitely a perfect thing to get as a last minute gift.

£18

If you don't get at least one Soap And Glory set is it really Christmas? I love getting sets like these each year, the mini's are perfect for travelling and the packaging is amazing so you can keep it and use it over and over again. I love this set because although you have your usual body products you also get some skincare products which is great.  They do have more sets that are a little cheaper such as the Glow Ball (which i love) and the Pick And Spritz which is one of my favourites from this year's Christmas Range.

£15

I get a new Throw every year and i love it. Just like pyjamas i don't think you can ever really have too many throws they're just so cosy. This one from Matalan is so gorgeous i fell in love with it the minute i saw it, it's plain and simple so it will go with pretty much any room and it just looks so soft. They do also do this throw in a cream colour, which i love, but i just think the grey one looks more cosy and cute, plus like i said it will go with any colour scheme so it's perfect for anybody!

£10

I love Makeup Revolution shadows so this gift set to me is the perfect last minute gift. You get an amazing eye shadow palette with every shade of gold and neutral shadows that you'd ever need, two shadow brushes and an eye primer. I think this set if perfect for your makeup loving family/friends but also a super good deal for someone whose just getting into makeup because you do literally get everything you need to do a simple eye shadow look and i mean for £10 it's an absolute bargain.

Last minute gifts don't always have to be stressful, there's thousands of amazing gifts out there that you can grab right up to Christmas. I hope this post has helped you find a last minute gift for someone in your life!

My Current Playlist - December 2017

My Current Playlist - December 2017

Hey Whisperers,

How is it Blogmas day 20 already?! This month as gone so fast, yet so slow at the same time, it's so strange. Anyways, i used to post a lot of music posts on my blog and for some reason i just stopped and there's been a few here and there since but not really that many, so today i thought I'd do a music themed post, My Current Playlist, to be exact. At this time of year most people have their Christmas tunes on, but not me, working in retail I'd be happy if i never heard another Christmas song again, so my playlist is just a collection of some songs I've found and loved over the past few months! This post is going to pretty much video based but I hope you enjoy!

My Current Playlist
Listen Here On Spotify

As you can tell my current playlist is the furthest thing from christmassy as you can get, but i kinda love it. I've found so many fun songs this past month and I've loved being able to listen to something that isn't Christmas music!

I hope you've enjoyed today's post!

Whats your favourite song at the minute?
Let me know in the comments down below!

Happy Blogmas Day 20!

The Struggles Of Working In Retail At Christmas

13:30:00 0
The Struggles Of Working In Retail At Christmas

Hey Whisperers,

If you've been a reader of my blog for a while you'll know that i work in a supermarket, super glamorous, i know. Anyway, for today's Blogmas post i thought I'd do a post about the struggles of working in retail at Christmas! If you don't work in retail, this will give you a little insight...and if you do, i feel for you i really do! So lets get into it!

The Struggles of Working In Retail At Christmas

Christmas for us starts in October

I don't know if it's just my store or all stores but the Christmas stuff had arrived this year way before the Halloween stuff, it was ridiculous. Most people don't think about Christmas until November, but not us, we're surrounded by reminders of whats to come from as early as September some years. It's horrible.

Christmas music is horrid

Now don't get me wrong, i love my fair share of festive songs, but when you have to listen to the same playlist, on repeat, everyday, hour after hour you start to loose your mind. For me this year it's been weird off tune covers of Christmas classics and I've honestly never wanted to turn music off so much in my life.

Christmas Eve is hell

Do i really need to say more? Customers honestly turn into some kind of crazed animals when it comes to Christmas Eve. The store is packed full from the minute the doors open to the minute they close, and I'll honestly never understand it. We are closed for one day, ONE DAY, the world isn't ending, you don't need to buy 101 bottles of water and a million loaves of bread. You will survive.

No Christmas Holiday

This is one of my biggest pet peeves, when it comes to Christmas there is no such thing as a Christmas holiday. You work up until the very last minute and then you're back in as soon as possible. My store is open every day up to Christmas, closed Christmas day and then re-opens Boxing Day and honestly the thought of even having to get out of my Pyjama's on Boxing Day makes me want to cry.

Scrooges

There's nothing worse than that one grumpy customer that comes in and does nothing but complain about the fact that the store is busy. Every year there's always one, whether they don't like Christmas, or just want to moan they find a way to let every member of staff know how much they hate being here. Sometimes i just want to scream I don't want to be here either....but that's not good customer service so i just slap on that fake smile and nod along as they complain and complain and complain.

Go home

There's always that one customer who just trails around the store at closing time, looking at every single product on the shelves...then only buys a loaf of bread from the aisle they first went down. I don't mind if people want to ponder round the store but it's Christmas Eve, I want to go home, I want to sleep but no I have to wait for Joe Bloggs to walk around the store 10 gazillion times before he decides he just wants that single loaf of bread from aisle 1, you know, the one that he saw half an hour ago.

Just Stop

Every store has that person who absolutely loves Christmas and makes sure everyone knows. When you've been awake since 4:30am, filling shelves, with a banging headache and the minimum amount of sleep that your body can handle, the last thing you want to hear is 'cheer up it's Christmas', because honestly, i couldn't give any less shits about the fact that it's Christmas. All i want is a hot drink and my bed, but no I'm here stacking shelves instead, so no Susan i won't fucking cheer up.

I could go on and on about the joys of working in retail during the Christmas time but then this post would be just as boring as watching Joe Bloggs walk around the store for half an hour, so I'll end it here.

I hope you've enjoyed today's blogmas post!

2017 Beauty Anti-Haul

13:30:00 0
2017 Beauty Anti-Haul

Hey Whisperers,

I love makeup, like i literally adore it, but over the past year I've seen some products be released and I've just looked at them and thought nah. I've seen some videos on YouTube about beauty products that people aren't going to buy and why, so i thought it would be fun to do a blog post about some of the products that i won't be buying this year! I hope you enjoy!

2017 Beauty Anti-Haul

£270

Ok, so £270 for a brush set is absolutely ridiculous, and that's before the huge income tax you'll have to pay here in the UK. I have tried, and loved, some of Kylie's lip products but i honestly just can't justify the price of these brushes. Looking at the set, to me, it just looks cheap, the 'brush holder' sleeve thing, looks like something i could pick up for £3 in Primark (no shade to primark btw) and the brushes themselves just don't look the best. For a brush set of this price point and supposed quality, you'd expect way better packaging. I have watched a few reviews of the brushes and i am yet to see a review that's even 80% positive, never mind 100% and when it comes to products of this price point you expect to see nothing more than amazing reviews. Another reason i won't be purchasing the Kylie Brush Set is because of the fact that the brushes are real hair, goats hair. Personally i don't see any reason at all to use animal hair in brushes when synthetic hair does just as great of a job, i think it's cruel, gross and 100% unnecessary.

£25

This palette, looks stunning. The colours are amazing, the shimmers look insane and the whole palette just looks beautiful, but i just can't when it comes to the price. I know that Huda Beauty is a Luxury brand and believe me i get it, the reviews are amazing, the swatches look absolutely stunning, but i just couldn't spend £25 on 9 eye shadows, especially not when i can go to boots and get the NYX Warm Neutrals Palette which has almost double the amount of shadows, with close dupes, for £16. I think palettes like these are the kinds of palettes you buy if you do makeup as a job, or if you are a seriously dedicated makeup collector, me personally, i just couldn't spend the £25 on them.

£29.99

This palette, to me, looks like the kind of thing i used to buy in Claire's Accessories when i was little. It's all a bit too boring. Essentially, you're paying for Gigi's name for the entire collection, which i honestly don't understand. In the palette you get 2 concealers (which clearly, doesn't cover the majority of skin tones), 6 shadows, which are all pretty much your bog standard shades, a blush, bronzer, highlighter and a mascara. My main issue with this palette is that it's honestly just pretty boring, i look at it and i just don't think wow i could create this look and that look, I just look at it and think meh. The price of this palette is of course another thing i don't like, Maybelline to me, is a more affordable brand and this palette is the opposite. You can literally get a 12 shade palette from them for £11.99 , but because this palette has Gigi's name on it, it's almost triple the price, honestly i think it's just a bit of a joke (kinda like the brushes included). I understand that, some, collaborations have  higher prices, but this one is just that extra bit ridiculous, which kinda explains why it only has a 1 star rating on Boots.com

£24.02

Unlike the rest of the products on this list so far, it isn't the price of this product that puts me off buying it. When i first saw the KKW Ultralight Beams i was intrigued, they looked gorgeous, they had some stunning colours and overall they looked pretty good, then i saw a Tati's review. Ok, so i know i shouldn't let other people's reviews change my opinion, but if there is one YouTuber i trust with reviews, it's Tati. In Tati's video (here) she tried on the lip toppers, which i loved the look of, and honestly, they all look the same, which i guess isn't a problem if you just want one shade but i was looking at 2 or 3. Apart from Tati's review, the actual product itself kind of put me off. Personally i wanted to just get the lip topper, but you can only buy the lip topper with a corresponding highlighting powder, which although looks gorgeous, i probably wouldn't use. If you've been reading my blog for awhile, i don't love loose products, they're messy and irritating and honestly, you loose half the product just by opening the lid, so the loose highlighter just wasn't something that i wanted, so the fact that you have to buy one with the lip topper, to me is just a waste.

£50

If you haven't seen this product making it's rounds this year i have no clue where you've been. The Rose Gold Elixir is probably one of the most popular products used on Instagram and because it was so popular i definitely didn't think it was going to be this pricey. For £50 you get 30ml of product, which is a bit ridiculous. I understand that the product has actual gold flakes in it and i know that people have said that it does wonders for their skin but £50..really? My issue with the price of this product is that you can get the, The Ordinary 100% Organic Rose Hip Oil for £9 with the exact same amount of product in. The  Farsáli one does have extra oils added such as lemongrass and pumpkin oil and obviously it has the gold flakes, but personally I'd rather buy the The Ordinary one for less than 1/5 of the price.

I don't usually share 'negative' posts on my blog but i thought this one was quite a fun post to write. I would like to say that i am of course not bashing any of the brands or their products, for all i know they're all incredible products, i just personally won't be buying any of them.

Do you have anything on your Anti-Haul List?

Next Blogmas.....

13:30:00 0
Next Blogmas.....

Hey Whisperers,

Blogmas is coming to an end, i can't believe there's only 1 week left, and honestly all though I’ve loved it I’ve also hated it. Blogmas is so stressful to do, the constant writing, photo shoots, editing, posting, promoting it becomes a lot. Don’t get me wrong it’s worth it, but it’s stressful. So today i thought I'd share a few things that I'm going to do differently when it comes to blogmas next year, if i do Blogmas that is. So i hope you enjoy!!

Next Blogmas...

Plan way ahead of time

This year I thought I’d planned ahead, I definitely hadn’t. Next year, I want to start writing as soon as possible. I’m hoping to start writing posts in the summer, not only because i will be stocked up on posts but because I will actually have decent lighting to take photos (well I say that but you never know what the British weather will be like).

Putting more time into posts

Firstly I’m not saying I haven’t put time into my posts, believe me I have but next year I want everything to be my own. This year I’ve had to use a lot of royalty free images for my headers but next year I want to be able to take those photos myself. I want to be able to sit back and look at my blog as mine, instead of my words with other peoples pictures you know?

Do different posts

I feel like my blogmas posts this year have been pretty generic and boring. They’ve been the same old Christmas posts and although I’ve loved writing them, it’s got to suck seeing 100+ of the same posts on your twitter timeline. I want to write posts that are different, things that stand out. I want my blog to be individual instead of just “another blogmas blogger” and i know it's going to be hard coming up with ideas but nothing about blogging is easy and it will definitely be worth it in the end.

Giveaways

I’m doing a Christmas giveaway this year (here)and I’ve loved getting stuff to put in it, but honestly I didn’t want to post it at all. I feel like I see these amazing giveaways all over twitter this time of year and mine is honestly just a bit shitty. I wish I could afford the big prizes to give away like other bloggers but I can’t. So next year I want to collect things and do a few giveaways over the Christmas period instead of just one. I’m going to start collecting Boxing Day so next years give away will be a lot bigger and better than this years one.

Collaborations

I know that sponsorship's are a big taboo to some bloggers, but I do want to do some more sponsored posts next blogmas. I want to be able to actually have some products in my hands and review them for you and I know some people will be thinking just go and buy them, but not everyone can. I want to be able to talk about them without just shoving them in a post and saying what I think “could” be good about them. I know this is a big goal as my blog is still a smaller blog but it's one of those things that i really want to work on over the next year and who knows, it could happen!

I've loved doing blogmas this year and i hope you've enjoyed reading my posts. Looking back i do wish that i had done a few things differently and hopefully next year I'll look back at this post and be able to say that i did each thing on the list. I hope you've enjoyed today's post!

Top 10 Binge Worthy Netflix Series

13:30:00 2
Top 10 Binge Worthy Netflix Series

Hey Whisperers,

As the weather gets colder all i want to do is curl up and watch a good show...oh who am i kidding i do this year round. I don't know what it is but i just can't deal with films, i have my select few that i can watch over and over (Pitch Perfect, Twilight, The Hunger Games etc) but i just can't sit down and just watch a film, however, i can just sit down and watch a show...for hours...and hours... ok i can watch a show all day. I have no shame. So for today's blogmas post i thought i would share 10 of my favourite Binge Worthy shows on Netflix! So lets get into it!

My Top 10 Binge Worthy Netflix Series

The Big Bang Theory

If you aren't a fan of this show...well i don't think we can be friends. I absolutely love this show, so much that I'm currently watching it through for the 4th time this year. The Big Bang Theory is just one of those shows where no matter how many times you watch it you always laugh at the jokes. To me it's the 'Friends' of the modern day, you have the drama, the love, the jokes and the friendships, pretty much everything to make it an incredible show. I need to catch up on Season 11, as it isn't on Netflix yet, but apart from that i absolutely love this show and can't wait to find out the outcome of the last episode!

Orange Is The New Black

Now, OITNB is definitely a show for the older readers. I know that there's teens out there that have watched this, but it's definitely suited more to older viewers. There's a lot of violence, drama, sex and drugs in the show but somehow, it doesn't take control, it's just kind of there, it pops up as a 'main focus' a few times but it isn't the center of attention 24/7.  There are so many important subjects touched upon in this series that it's pretty hard not to sit back and just think when the episodes over. Like i said, i definitely think it's suited to older audiences but hey who am i to say anything i watched Season 1 when i was 16.

Pretty Little Liars

If you've been a reader of my blog for awhile you'll know that Pretty Little Liars is probably my all time favourite TV show. I pretty much grew up on Pretty Little Liars, i started watching it when i was 13 and I watched it every single week until it ended a few months ago and oh my god was it a whirl wind. I know a lot of people thought the show was dragged out but i was just happy that they kept producing episodes and there was no way that i saw the ending coming. I like shows that keep me on the edge of my seat and this one does just that, there's so many plot-twists that they're hard to keep up with but the show as a whole is amazing.

Bitten

I found Bitten a few months ago and i just kinda fell in love with it. I love supernatural shows and this one is pretty much that, it's a show about a girl who was 'Bitten' and turned into a werewolf but left the pack to try and live a normal life, and she does for a year and then events happen and she has to go home, then everything changes. Alike the other shows I've mentioned, Bitten has so many plot-twists and drama that it just keeps you on the edge of your seat, i know it sounds quite generic, but it's one of those shows that you can't help but clicking 'next episode' on.

How I Met Your Mother

Just like The Big Bang Theory, i think How I Met Your Mother is another ''modern friends" it has the same generic characters and the same relationships and even though it's kind of been done before it's still just so funny and relatable that you can't help but love it. I still haven't got to the end of this series, I'm currently on Season 9 Episode 11 so i literally have 13 episodes left and even though i already know the ending i can't wait to keep watching and i think that's when you know it's a good show, when you can just be like yeah i know the ending but i still want to spend the next 13 watching the show, you know?

Shadow Hunters

Now, I've read some of the books for this series and i was so disappointed with the film so i honestly had the lowest hopes for the show but i was pleasantly surprised. I absolutely love it, i think the casting is perfect, the acting is great and the actual show itself is amazing. Alike How I Met Your Mother, i haven't yet finished this series because, i pretty much have the smallest focus ever so i normally have like 4/5 shows cycling through at once, and this one is one of the few i have going at the minute. A like a few of the other shows on this list, this show is a supernatural show, full of drama, love, plot twists and some amazing stunts. I don't know if the books are what made me love the show or if it is just a great show but i definitely recommend checking it out either way!

Orphan Black

Orphan Black is honestly, one of the most amazing shows that i have ever seen. It is just incredible. I don't even know how to explain it to you but I'll try, the show follows a woman called Sarah who on her way home, witnesses a woman jump in-front of a train, but it isn't just any woman, it was a woman who looked identical to her. After watching her kill herself, Sarah steals the things the woman left behind and basically takes on her identity, after taking on her identity she discovers that the woman that killed herself wasn't the only person who looked identical to her, there were others too. After she finds out there's drama round every corner whether it's relationships, illness or death there's always something to keep you on the edge of your seat. I don't even know what made me start watching the show but i am so glad that i did because it's honestly incredible (in case i haven't said it enough...it's incredible)

The Vampire Diaries

The Vampire Diaries is another show that i grew up on, 12 year old me loved it. I was definitely too young to be watching it but, i watched it anyway. I don't know why but i went off it for awhile, but i did, and so when i saw it on Netflix i binge watched the whole thing and i absolutely loved it. As you can probably tell I am such a huge fan of Supernatural shows (including the actual show Supernatural which btw Netflix really need to add) so it was kinda a given that i was going to love The Vampire Diaries too. However, i will say that it gets a bit slow at times but honestly if you stick with it, it will be so worth it.

Wynonna Earp

I had never heard of Wynonna Earp until a few months ago and now I've watched it through twice, i know it's ridiculous. Wynonna Earp is just such a fun, witty, drama filled show that i pretty much fell in love with it within the span of one episode. The show is basically about Wynonna Earp and her battle against Demons as she takes on the role of the peacemaker, a force that sends demons back to hell every 10 years. I definitely think it is more of a cliche show but it's still pretty good, even though it's action packed it has it's fair share of comedy, romance and plot-twists that it kind of all balances each other out. It is quite a short series to binge as it currently has only 2 seasons...but i still think it's worth watching so it made the list.

13 Reasons Why

Now we all know that 13 Reasons Why has only one season, but oh my god is it worth binge watching. The show picks up on so many important issues and problems in the world right now that i honestly think that everyone should watch it. I know a lot of people say that it is triggering, and i understand that, so i will say that if you are easily triggered i don't recommend watching it, but if you aren't i highly suggest giving it a watch. If you don't know what the show is about, first of all where have you been? and second of all it's a show about a girl who committed suicide and left 13 tapes explaining why she did it. Each tape is a different reason and person and honestly it is one of the most heartbreaking but incredible shows I've ever seen. It shows the reality of life for families, friends, teachers, classmates, and pretty much everyone in between after someone commits suicide, which i think is so important. Like i said, if you are easily triggered, please don't watch as your health is way more important than keeping up with a show, but if not definitely give it a watch because you won't regret it.

Well wasn't that a long post. As you can tell i have quite a few favourite shows to binge watch. I hope this post has helped you find a new show to watch over the next few months!

What's your favourite Binge Worthy show?

My Top 5 Must Read Blogs - Blogmas Edition

My Top 5 Must Read Blogs - Blogmas Edition

Hey Whisperers,

I'll be completely honest, Blogmas is kicking my butt. I thought that i was so prepared this year, starting off the month with 11 posts, written, edited, scheduled and ready to go, but now I'm sat here on day 13 and i have nothing scheduled. I think blogmas is one of those things were you're either all in or half assing it and I'm not about to half ass it, i am determined to finish these 25 day's of daily blogging, no matter what. Anyway, in today's post i thought that i would share 5 bloggers that I'm loving right now, because even though i have been all over the place these past 2 weeks i have still had time to read my fair share of Blogmas posts and i've fallen in love with quite a few new blogs! So before this intro ends up being longer than most of my posts, lets get into it!

My Top 5 Must Read Blogs
~Blogmas Edition~

apearlydream
If you've been a reader of my blog for awhile you'll know that i absolutely love Rachel's blog, so getting a new post to read daily has been amazing. Something i love most about Rachel's blogmas posts is that they are all so different, she has posts about Makeup, Books, YouTube and even one about her family dog (who is so freaking adorable btw). I think, when it comes to blogmas it's so easy to fall into the 'everything need to be Christmas themed' posts (which although i love, do get a bit much) and i love that Rachel hasn't done that, she's just carried on with her regular posts. Her blog definitely has an amazing variety of posts so it's definitely one of my go to blogs this December.

ZombieGoddess Beauty

Everytime I've wanted to read a festive post I've gone straight to Cassie's blog. Over the past two weeks I've spent so much time on Cassie's blog reading through all her blogmas posts and also some of her past posts too. I've been following Cassie for awhile so i have no clue how i haven't read more of her blog until now. My favourite posts that she's posted so far have been her Christmas Rants post (if you're reading this Cassie, i pretty much agree with every single point on your list) and her Tales From A Christmas Past post. I'm pretty much obsessed with Cassie's blog and i wish i had taken the time to read it sooner because she has some amazing posts!

Danie-Jade
Danie-Jade

Alike Cassie, Danie is another blogger that I've been following for awhile. I'd read a few of Danie's posts before Blogmas started but over the past few weeks I've found myself reading her blog daily. I am pretty much obsessed with her blogs theme and I'm also obsessed with her header. When i look at Danie's blog i pretty much go 'that's the kind of blog i want', not in the i want to copy her format kind of way but just a i want my blog to look as professional, sleek and gorgeous as hers and of course i want my posts to be as amazing as hers too. One of my favourite blogmas posts from Danie's blog is her Festive Lip Colours, the post is amazing and the photography is just gorgeous. If you're looking for a binge worthy blog Danie's is definitely one to check out.

DEBRA BOW
Debra Bow

I've loved Debra's blog for awhile now so when i saw her start posting her blogmas posts i was super excited. Debra's blog, to me, is just flawless. She has incredible content and her posts are always amazing, and of course her blogmas posts are equally amazing too. I loved reading about her Christmas Party plans and her Swatch Perfect post has literally been my favourite blogmas post so far, it's seriously going to help me sort out my swatches so much. Debra's blog is another one of those blogs that i could just read over and over because her posts are just amazing so i definitely recommend checking out her blog (it also currently has falling snowflakes too which i'm obsessed with, so if you weren't already sold on her blog, you should be now)

Charlene McElhinney

I will admit, when Charlene posted a poll the other day on twitter asking if her followers had been reading her Blogmas posts, i was one of the 55% that said no, but boy has that changed in the past 3 days. I tweeted Charlene back after she tweeted about wondering if the pressure of doing blogmas was even worth it, because honestly, I've been feeling the same way and since then I've read all of her blogmas posts and quite a few of her previous posts too. Charlene's post on Christmas Shoppers was definitely one of my favourites, working in retail I've seen pretty much all of the shoppers she mentioned, and I'm pretty sure I've been them too and it was quite fun to read it from someone else's point of view.  I also loved her Bah Humbug post, it just has so many points that i agree with and it's kind of refreshing to read a post that doesn't just go on about how fabulous Christmas is and how it's the best time of year. I'm definitely a new reader of Charlene's blog but I'm definitely a big fan.

And those are my current favourite blogs. I've discovered so many blogs over the past few weeks and i love that blogmas is the reason. Hopefully I'll find even more before it's over. I hope this blog has helped you find some more blogmas blogs to read this month because lets be honest they're all pretty amazing!

Etsy Gift Guide

Etsy Gift Guide

Hey Whisperers,

So I've done my His and Hers gift guides and I absolutely loved writing them and honestly i was just going to leave my gift guides there, but, the other day i was scrolling through Etsy adding 101 things to my wishlist and i just knew that i had to make a gift guide about it. There are so many incredible businesses on Etsy and i wanted to share them with my little corner of the Internet! I hope you enjoy!

Etsy Gift Guide

Dorkface

I wouldn't have been able to do this post without speaking about Jemma's Etsy Store. I'm pretty sure everyone knows that I'm pretty much obsessed with Jemma's Etsy Store by now...and if they don't well now they do. I love so many of Jemma's products but this one stood out to me so much when i was scrolling through trying to pick one to put into this post (it took me a solid half an hour to choose just one!!!). The quote on this print is just so, i don't know, it just gives you that happy feeling. I think that prints like this, in a nice frame are such a perfect gift for friends. There's pretty much a print for everyone on Jemma's shop so you'll definitely find one that fits your friends personality! I have ordered from Jemma's store before and the prints have come in perfect condition and they are so well made so i definitely think that they're a good option for a friend, you can even get personalised illustrations (here) to add that extra bit of a personal touch! Honestly, her store has everything!!

-
Lianakangas

I have been obsessed with  Liana's store for awhile, she has some of the most amazing and creative products that I've seen. One of the things i love are the Patches and Stickers that she makes, they just look so cool and fun. I know that this patch isn't for everyone but it is honestly something that all of my friends would iron onto their backpacks, jackets etc. I saw it and I was pretty much like yep that needs to go into the gift guide, she does also make some super cute Pins too which i absolutely love (especially the 'ugh' one here).

 -
Sweet Allure

I am a die hard Disney fan so i had to include Sweet Allure in this post. I am 110% obsessed with all of  Tarnya's artwork and i want to buy pretty much everything. I of course, couldn't include them all in this post so i went for one of my all time favourites, the Little Mermaid Silhouette. The Silhouette prints were the first pieces i saw from Tarnya's store and I've been in love with them ever since, they're just so unique and beautiful that it's pretty hard not to fall in love with them. I am such a Disney Fan so of course those prints are my favourites but Tarnya also does some incredibly beautiful Harry Potter designs and some cute quotes too (if you're a Harry Potter fan i suggest checking out the Stag Patronus print here it's stunning ), if you have a Disney fan in your family/friendship group i definitely recommend checking out her Etsy Store!

-
The Purple Rosebud

How adorable are these rings?! I love crystals so these rings are right up my street. I love how small and 'dainty' they are too because i literally can not stand huge rings. These rings are also super cheap too, which, if you're on a budget is great. The store does also sell necklaces, chokers, bracelets and earrings so they have something for everyone. If you're looking for a bit of a bigger piece the Opal Pointed Necklace  here is by far one of my favourites and the Snowflake Obsidian Point Necklace here  is also a gorgeous piece. When it comes to jewelry i just think pieces like these from The Purple Rosebud are the perfect gift for people as each crystal is different so no matter how many you buy you'll never find one the same, they're all completely one of a kind which i think is just a super cute added touch.

Relaxation Gift Set

Butter Bar Soapery

Is there anything better than a pamper night? I think not. As soon as i saw this gift set i knew i had to add it to the gift guide. In the set you pretty much get everything you need for a good pamper night, you get; Vanilla Scented Butter Bars, A Face Mask Powder and some Vanilla Scented Bath Salts, all of which look incredible. Each item is packaged in gorgeous packaging and then put in a gift box. Honestly, i just love how this looks, like me, a lot of my friends love a good face mask and chill night so this is such a great gift to get, i find that a lot of sets that are like this on the high street are one time use kind of things, most have one sheet mask or one of those flimsy film packets, a small butter bar and a sachet of salts but this one has a tonne of product and it will last for quite awhile. If this set isn't your cup of tea, they do also sell a gorgeous Rose Scented one with a face mask and bath soak in that looks equally amazing here. Overall i think these sets are amazing value and an amazing gift.

There's just something about scrolling through Etsy that i love. These stores are just some of my favourites, but if i listed them all this post would never end. I love supporting small businesses and Etsy is definetley the place to do that. I hope that this post has helped you find something that extra bit special for that special someone in your life!

Birchbox Unboxing - December 2017

13:30:00 2
Birchbox Unboxing - December 2017

Hey Whisperers,

Another day another Blogmas post! When I started writing my blogmas posts i didn't think I'd get through the first week and yet here we are almost at the end of week 2!!! I hope you've been enjoying the posts as much have i have. Today's post isn't a Christmassy one but instead it's one of my regular posts, a Birchbox Unboxing. I know it isn't exactly with the theme of everything else but I still wanted to share this months box so here we are! I don't want to drag this into out too much so lets get straight into it!!

 Birchbox Unboxing - December 2017

What Is Birchbox

If you're new to Birchbox, Birchbox is a monthly subscription box that you receive each month with 5 products to try out. The products can range from sample size to full size and they also range in price. All products in the box can be found on the Birchbox website where the box is purchased for £12.95 each month. Each box is designed and themed differently each month, with this month's box being Vogue 100 themed.  Birchbox has introduced a new scheme called Birchbox Benefits, where after 6 months of being subscribed, you become a Birchbox VIP meaning you get the first chance to pick a product or the design of your box each month. As a  Birchbox VIP you also get 15% off everything in the Birchbox shop with it a pretty good deal for just being subscribed.

What I Got This Month

RRP £13.95

Another Birchbox another hair product. If you've been reading my Birchbox posts for awhile you'll know that i have really sensitive skin on my scalp so i can't really use new hair products. I've tried everything on the website to stop them sending them to me but they still do. This months hair product from what i can tell, is kind of like an exfoliate for your hair, which is probably one of the worst things i could use. I guess if you liked trying out new hair products this would be a pretty cool one but for me it's just another meh product.

RRP £14.95

I've seen Nip + Fab all over the Internet recently so i was quite excited when i saw this in my box. I've never really seen a moisturiser with Kale in so I'm quite excited to give this one a go. I'm not too sure how i feel about the smell of the moisturiser as it does smell a little odd but I'm definitely going to give it a try, it's a pretty good sample size too so hopefully it will last me quite a while.

Full Size  RRP £4.99/£5.99

Ok so this was one of the products that i was less excited about. I know that Spectrum brushes are an amazing brand and i love their brushes but this is the 3rd brush that I've received now and although it's a cool thing to receive i kinda just want to try something new you know? I love the brush but I'm not super excited about it. Also i don't know if it's just me but it's kinda annoying that they aren't all the same 'theme' like i now have a mermaid one, white one and now a black one, they don't really go together or anything. I did put £4.99/£5.99 for this brush as in the booklet i got in my box it says that it is £4.99 but on the website it says £5.99 so I'm not too sure on the exact price.

Full Size RRP £4.50

I frigging love foaming shower gels, i don't know why but i just love them. I literally just stopped writing this paragraph to go test this out on my hands and i love it. It's got quite a strong rose sent so if you don't like rose scented things this definitely won't be your cup of tea. It's super foamy and a little bit definitely goes a long way. I'm excited to try this out more, it's definitely one of my favourite products in the box and it's full size which is great!

Full Size RRP £8

Pixi is a makeup brand that I've never tried so when i saw that this was going to be a product in this months box i was quite excited. Lipstick was this month's 'choose your product' so as you can tell i went with the Pixi lip balm but you could also go with the Lord Of Colour Red Lipstick which i thought was pretty cool. This lip balm isn't like any that I've tried before, it's super creamy but it's also super pigmented so it looks more like a lipstick when it's on the lips which i love. I was expecting it to be a lot more sheer but I'm obsessed with how pigmented it is, the colour is pretty much a my lip colour but better colour too so it's not too bold to wear daily. I don't know if I'd pay £8 for it but i do love it.

Total RRP Of This Month's Box

£46.39

Overall, i wasn't too impressed with this months box. This month i did get 3 full size products which is great for a box of this price but i just wasn't too impressed. I have been doing these Birchbox posts for over a year now and i have loved doing them but i just don't love Birchbox as much as i used to so i have cancelled my subscription, which does suck, but i didn't want to just carry it on for the sake of one post a month. I do want to carry on doing unboxings so i am looking into subscribing to another box so if you have any suggestions let me know! I have seen good things about Glossybox so I'm leaning towards that one at the minute but I'm open to suggestions!

I know I've cancelled my subscription but if you want to try out Birchbox feel free to use my link to get £5 off your first box making it just £7.95!

I hope you've enjoyed this months unboxing!
