The Versatile Award

13:00:00 2
The Versatile Award
Hey Whisperers,

Today I'm here to write a post about the Versatile Blogger Award which that i was nominated for by the amazing Leah Prescott (read her blog here).

When you get nominated for this aware there are four rules that each blogger needs to follow, these rules are:

1- Include the picture below in your post
2-Shoutout the blogger/bloggers who have nominated you and link their blog.
3- Include 7 facts about you in the post
4- Nominate 10-15 bloggers for the award

So lets start with rule number 3

7 Facts About Me

I am 4ft 11.
Yes i know I'm short, no i won't grow any taller and yes I'm a little annoyed by it but it's just life

This is my 4th Blog.
When i was in Sixth Form/College i had to write 2 blogs for my media course and that is where i found my love for blogging. I then started a music based blog but i hated it so i deleted it and started this blog about beauty, lifestyle and everything in between and i love it.

I have always wanted to be a teacher.
Ever since i was a kid i have always wanted to be a teacher, i don't know why i just always have so hopefully i will be going to uni next year to do a primary education course.

I hate cheese.
I think cheese is vile, however i love pizza so i don't understand why 'raw' cheese makes me feel so sick. I guess it's just something I'll never know.

One of my biggest fears is spiders.
I don't know what it is about those 8 legged little devils but they make my skin crawl. Ever since i was little I've always had a huge fear of spiders and i honestly don't see it stopping anytime soon.

I have a serious addiction to American TV Series.
I don't know what it is about American TV Series but they just have me hooked from Pretty Little Liars to Grey's Anatomy and One Tree Hill i love them all.

I never actually wore makeup properly until i was 14
Up until the age of 14 i didn't have much of an interest in makeup, i don't know what happened when i turned 14 but i became obsessed and now i am a full on makeup addict.

Now for rule 4 who i nominate!!

Thank you so much Leah for the nomination it really does mean a lot and good luck to all of those who i have nominated  your blogs are all incredible!!

Thanks for Reading,
Soph xoxo

My Halloween Playlist
hey Whisperers!

A few days ago I posted a poll on twitter asking you guys what you wanted to see on the blog over the next few days, and one of the most voted was my Halloween playlist. So today i'm going to be showing you some of my halloween party must have songs! I'm not going to be talking through each song like i normally do, mainly because it would make this post ultra long and also because while I'm writing this I'm sat in the back of a car on my phone which is on 30%, the things I do for blogging.Anyways,I hope you enjoy my Halloween playlist!

Thanks for Reading,

4 Easy Go To Halloween Looks

16:59:00 16
4 Easy Go To Halloween Looks
Hey Whisperers,

Over the past few weeks I've seen so many Halloween makeup looks all over social media and I am so in love with so many of them, however i don't have the most amazing makeup skills so half of those looks are pretty much impossible for me to create. So today i thought i would show you 4 easy, go to makeup looks that you can create at home with products you probably already have!  So lets get into the post because it's going to be a long one!

My 4 Easy Go To Halloween Looks

Look 1 - Cat

I am pretty sure this is one of the most popular Halloween looks out there but i thought I'd throw it in here anyways!

To achieve this look you will need-

Eyebrow Pencil/Pomade
Black Eyeliner
Black Eyeshadow
Red Lipstick
Red Lip liner

Get the look-

Start off with applying your base
Apply your foundation, concealer as you usually would and set your face with powder. After your face is set apply a little bronzer to the perimeter of your face to bring some warmth back into it.

Time to create the cat's nose
With your black eyeliner create a triangle extending down towards your nostrils. Then round out the top and sides of the triangle to make it look more like a cats nose.

Feline Flick
Blend some of your bronzer into your crease using a blending brush. Once blended create a thin line of eyeliner and extend it out into a long thin wing to create a dramatic feline flick. Apply mascara to create some dramatic lashes.

Whisker Time
Take a black eyeshadow and lightly sketch out where you want your whiskers to go. Once you're happy with the placement, length and thickness go over them with your black eyeliner and set with your black eyeshadow so they stay in place all day/night.

Time for that signature pout
Take your red lipstick and fill in your lips,i would suggest using a lip liner, i didn't because i was taking it off as soon as i had finished but for a long lasting look, i would use a lip liner. After you're finished applying your lip liner you're ready to go.

Look 2- Vampire

Before we start this look can we just note now uneven my eyebrows were, i don't know how i didn't notice this until now but they're a serious mess. But you know what they say, eyebrows are sisters not twins right?

To achieve this look you will need-

Black Eyeshadow
Burgundy Eyeshadow
Black Liquid Eyeliner
Black Kohl Pencil
Red Liquid Lipstick
Plum Lipstick

Get the look

Start off with applying your base
Apply your foundation, concealer and eyebrows as you usually would and set your face with powder. After your face is set it's time to fill in those brows, i filled mine in with a black eyeliner to make them extra bold but you can always stick with your natural brow colour and fill them in with a brow pencil.

Lost in those eyes
To create the dark eyes, apply your burgundy eyeshadow in your crease, blending up towards the brow bone. Once your burgundy shadow is completely blended use your black eyeshadow to cover your entire eyelid and blend upwards with a mixture of both the black and burgundy shadows. Then take your eyeliner and create a sharp wing on the upper lash line and fill in your waterline and tight line with a black Kohl liner. To finish off the eyes take the black eyeshadow on an angled brush and apply it on your lower lash line blending it out with some burgundy shadow. Apply mascara to finish off the eyes (fake lashes would look amazing with this look too)

That Bloody Mouth
Take your plum lipstick and use it all over the lips. Once finished clean up around the edges with concealer and an angled brush. One you have the lips cleaned up apply a small amount of red liquid lipstick below the outer thirds of the bottom lip and use either a brush or your finger to smudge downwards to create that dried blood look, and you're done.

Look 3 - Scarecrow

I don't know what it is about this look but i just think it's super cute for Halloween, you can pair it with a flannel shirt and jeans. Put your hair in pigtails or tease it all over and you're ready for any Halloween party!

To achieve this look you will need-

Pink Blush
Eyebrow Pencil
Black Eyeshadow
Pink Eyeshadow
Black Liquid Eyeliner
Black Kohl Pencil
Nude Lip gloss

Start off with applying your base
Apply your foundation and concealer as you usually would and set your face with powder. After your face is set apply bronzer to the perimeter of your face to warm it up. Then use your regular eyeshadow pencil and fill in your brows making them a little darker and thicker than usual. Use your pink blush to create pink circles on the apples of your cheeks, blend them out only slightly was we want to keep it pretty bold.

Piercing eyes
Take your bronzer and warm up the crease of your eye. Once your bronzer is fully blended apply a thin line of liquid eyeliner to your lash line to create some definition and apply mascara. Then take some black eyeshadow and create pointed lines going down towards your cheeks to create the tightened under eye look, once your done with the eyeshadow go over top with eyeliner to make the lines more defined (for a softer look skip this step).

Cute as a button
To create the cute cut out nose map out the shape you would like with your brow pencil. Once you're happy with the shape fill in with pink eyeshadow and then go over the top with some bronzer to tone down the pink. Once you've created your desired colour outline the shape with black eyeliner and add lines to make it look like a stitched on patch.

To create the stitched mouth use your liquid eyeliner to draw lines extending from each side of your mouth up onto the cheeks. Then, draw lines going downwards along the line to create a stitched look. Take your eyebrow pencil and create a c around the end of each stitch to make it look like its going into your skin.

Once your stitches are done take your lip gloss and apply it to your lips, and then you're done!

Look 4- Silent Treatment

I saw this look on a blog the other day and i knew that i had to re-create it for this post because it's so simple yet so cool and amazing. For the original post click here because her look was incredible and turned out so cool.

To achieve this look you will need-

Eyebrow Pencil
Black Eyeshadow
Black Liquid Eyeliner
Black Kohl Pencil

Get the look

Apply your base
Apply your foundation and concealer s as you usually would and set your face with powder. Fill in your eyebrows with your eyebrow pencil making them a little thicker and darker than normal.

Eyes to the soul
Heavily apply your black eyeshadow to your eyelid and lower lash line, blending it towards the brow bone and down to the cheeks. This doesn't have to be neat but if you're having trouble blending it, use your face powder to help soften the edges. Apply your kohl pencil to your tight line and waterline and apply mascara.

Silent Treatment
Apply concealer over your lips and set with powder. Once set, use your black eyeshadow to map out where you want your stitches to go and fill in the inner lip with the shadow too. Once you're happy with the placement go over with black liquid liner and use your eyebrow pencil to create c shapes around the ends of the stitches to make it look like they're going into your skin. And you're done!

So those were my easy go to Halloween looks! Something i love most about these looks is that you can change them and add to them as much as you want to make them suit you better which is always a plus. At this time of year it's hard to find a look to create, without having to go out and buy a bunch of new products so hope I this post has helped you either pick a look or gave you some inspiration to create a look with products you already have in your collection!!

Let me know down below which look was your favourite and also what you're being for Halloween this year!!

Thanks for Reading
Happy Halloween

Discalimer- I am not in anyway claiming to be a makeup artist or that i am even good at makeup i am just creating these looks in response to a poll i posted on twitter where people voted for me to do some halloween looks. I know they aren't the best but i did my best with what i had and the time that i had to create them in. Thank you.

Halloween Rose Cupcakes

16:30:00 0
Halloween Rose Cupcakes

Hey Whisperers,

Now I am a big fan of cupcakes, whether it's vanilla or chocolate, red velvet or raspberry i love them. So when i was thinking of what to make for my Spook Week i knew i had to make some cupcakes. This recipe is pretty easy and you can change it to suit your tastes so i thought it would be perfect! So lets get into the post!

110g/4oz Caster Sugar
110g/4oz Butter
2 Eggs
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
110g/4oz Self-Raising Flour
1-2 Tsp Milk
Red Gel Food Colouring
Black Gel Food Colouring

(If you don't have these you can make your own with 140g butter and 240g icing sugar)
Brown Butter cream Icing
White/Vanilla Buttercream Icing
Green Food Colouring

Cupcake Liners
Cupcake Tray
Wire Rack
Electric Whisk
Piping bag (1 reusable one or 2 regular ones)
Star Piping Tip

πŸ‘» LETS BAKE πŸ‘»

First of all, preheat your oven to 180°C. Next, cream together your caster sugar and butter until they become pale and fluffy. I didn't have any caster sugar left so i used regular sugar and the cupcakes turned out fine, so use whatever you have!

Next up whisk in your eggs, one at a time. Tip: To help prevent your mixture from separating add a spoon of your flour into the mix! After both eggs have been whisked in add your vanilla extract and milk and mix until combined.

Once your eggs, vanilla and milk have been fully combined begin to whisk in your flour one spoon at a time. Once all the flour has been added whisk for around 30 seconds to add some air into the mixture. I also added a small amount of green food colouring into my mix to add a little extra something to the cupcake when you bite into it.

When you have finished whisking the batter separate it evenly between your 12 cupcake cases and place the tray in the oven for around 12-15 minutes keeping your eye on the cupcakes to make sure they don't burn. To test if they are cooked insert a toothpick and if it comes out clear they're done. Place your cupcakes on a wire rack and allow them to cool.

Time to start on the icing. Now i did try to make the black icing for the black roses but one box of icing sugar and 2 bottles of food colouring later, i was just left with icing that pretty much tasted like vinegar so instead i brought chocolate and vanilla icing, i used the Betty Crocker Vanilla Buttercream Icing and the Betty Crocker Chocolate Fudge icing  both of which taste AMAZING!  Now i know a lot of people like to make their own icing so click here for a simple buttercream icing recipe that i love!

Imaged Sourced from Giphy
Now to create the 'blood roses' put your icing tip in your piping bag (link to the a similar piping tip i used here) and cut the end off, draw lines of red food colouring up the sides of the bag (no more than 4 times or it will all become red). Twist your piping bag and test the icing until it gets the red feathered look. Then hold the piping bag straight down and pipe from the middle of your cupcake outwards in a spiral to create a cute rose.

For the black/brown roses, mix together your black gel food colouring and your icing until it is as dark as you want it to be. Then alike the blood roses, fill your piping bag and pipe your flower from the centre of your cupcake in a spiral motion to create a dark rose.

And you're done! These cupcakes are perfect for any Halloween party and even for parties throughout the year!

I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know if you make these cupcakes using the #PWDarkRose on Twitter!

My Top 5 Halloween Films

16:30:00 2
My Top 5 Halloween Films
Hey Whisperers,

As most of you know Halloween is my favourite time of year and Halloween isn't Halloween without some good ol' Halloween movies (how many times do i need to say Halloween in one sentence flipping hell!). Now I know what most of you guys are thinking, who has time for Halloween movies when you can be out trick or treating and partying? Me that's who. I may like a good Halloween party, but i definitely love my films too, and I'm not going to lie the minute October 1st comes around it's Halloween time for me. Anyways, that's enough of my rambling let's get into the post you came here too see.

My Top 5 Halloween Films

Hocus Pocus

Now if Hocus Pocus isn't on your list of top Halloween films, what are you and where are you from. For me Hocus Pocus is pretty much THE Halloween film. It has everything you would want, witches, zombies, love, ghosts and even a black cat. Now it isn't scary and i know that for some people that is a must but i mean come on it's a classic. If you haven't heard of this film it is a film about a trio of three witches who were put under a spell which meant they can't be resurrected without the black candle being lit, and I'm betting you can guess what happens.

Addams Family

Next up is the Addams Family. This film is the kind of film I love watching when I'm curled up all snug in my bed on a cold night, it's the perfect Halloween film. It has just enough mystery and humour that it's a pretty hard film not to love, and to pretty honest Wednesday Addams is pretty much my spirit animal she is so sassy, honest and dark that i can't help but love her.

Now when it comes to saw I'm pretty sure everyone has watched at least one of these films, and if you haven't well you're missing out. I say 'Saw' but in reality there's no way i can just watch one of these films. One film normally turns into two and by the end of the day I've been sat on the sofa all day, under my blanket and I've been through all 7 films. It's hard to turn them off don't judge me ok?. Now if you haven't seen or heard of these films they are a series of films about a serial killer who goes by the name Jigsaw, he kidnaps his victims and puts them through a series of tasks. In the first film it's two victims who wake up in a bathroom with no idea how they got there. Overall they're great films to watch just beware because they do contain a fair bit of gore.

House At The End Of The Street

Now this next film is a more recent film release and i absolutely love it. I first saw this film in the cinema for a friends birthday and I've loved it ever since. Even though i know the ending every time i watch it, i still have that edge of the seat anticipation for what's going to happen next. Plus let's be honest it's got Jennifer Lawrence in it and anything with her in it is amazing. This film, if you haven't heard of it is a film about a girl who moves and ends up moving in next door to the town's 'haunted' house, however it turns out the son of the old owners still lives there, and so does it sister. Well that's who he wants you to think it is anyway.

Would You Rather

Now this film is definitely one of the more gruesome films on this list. I don't even know what made me click on this poster on Netflix but I did and I've loved the film ever since. Now this is definitely not a film for the faint hearted or anyone young. It has a lot of violence in it but for those of you who want a good gore film to watch this Halloween this is perfect. Each character in the film signed up for a medical trial and instead end up being forced through task after task making the what was supposed to be a regular medical trial into a fight for the survival of the fittest.

So those were my top 5 Halloween films. Let me know what your favourite Halloween films are down below!

Thanks for reading

Easy Halloween Ghostly Meringues

16:30:00 10
Easy Halloween Ghostly Meringues

Hey Whisperers,

Nothing is better than baking during this time of year, whether it's chocolate chip cookies to munch down on while you're drinking that hot chocolate or those cupcakes you savour while watching that horror film, nothing beats autumn baking. Today i'm going to be doing a post on some of my favourite things to make, not only in the autumn, but all year round. Meringues. Now I know what you're thinking, I said this was easy, and it is. There's really only 6 steps and then you've got some super cute ghostly meringues for your halloween party! So let's get into the recipe.

πŸŽƒWhat You Will Need πŸŽƒ

- 4 Egg Whites (Room Temperature)
-Pinch of Salt
-220g of Sugar
-1/2 Teaspoon of Vanilla Essence
-Black Food Colouring
- 6 Tsp Icing Sugar

-Electric Whisk
- Baking Tray
-Greaseproof Paper
-Measuring Cups
-Large Mixing Bowl
-Measuring Scales
-Rubber Spatula

πŸ‘» Lets Bake πŸ‘»

First up preheat your oven to 120°C. Next up you're going to  separate your eggs. To do this crack the eggs over your bowl and carefully switch the yolk from shell to shell until all of the whites are in the bowl below. You can then either throw away the yolks or keep them for later (they are great to add into omelets for a little extra protein)

You're then going to add your pinch of salt to your egg whites and whisk them until they form stiff peaks in the bowl (if you're not sure a easy way to test this is if you turn the bowl upside down they won't move, be careful though, we don't want to waste all the eggs!) Once your eggs have formed stiff peaks start to gradually add in your sugar one spoon at a time whisking until all the sugar is incorporated.

After all the sugar is incorporated add in your vanilla essence, and continue to whisk for another 2-3 minutes (aren't you glad i said to use an electric whisk!) Once you're done mixing transfer your mixture to either a piping bag or thick sandwich bag and cut about a 1-2 high cut across the bag forming your icing tip.

Line your baking tray with a sheet of greaseproof paper (tip: if the edges keep peeling up, use a tiny bit of your mixture to stick them down). Then take your piping bag and pipe in a swirl shape, while pulling up to create your ghost body! Reduce your oven temperature to 90°C ,pop your ghosts into the oven and let them bake for around an hour and a half keeping your eyes on them because we don't want them to brown. Once your meringues are baked, turn off the oven and leave them  in the oven to cool completely.

While you're waiting for your ghosts to cool, mix together your 6 tsps of icing sugar with your food colouring and water. Transfer this either into a piping bag or leave it in the bowl, i did this while my ghosts were cooking so that it set and became thicker. Once your ghosts are completley cooled, remove them from the oven and decorate with your icing. I chose to use a toothpick to do this because i found it a lot easier but you can also pipe the face on too!

Then you're left with your Ghostly Meringues!

I hope you enjoyed this halloween ghostly meringues recipe! Let me know if you try it down below and don't forget to tweet me pictures with the #PWHalloween

My Favourite Places To Shop This Halloween

16:07:00 0
My Favourite Places To Shop This Halloween
Hey Whisperers,

So as most of you know Halloween isn't as big over here as it is in America (I wish it was but i'm not that lucky). Now don't get me wrong the UK has it's fair share of halloween events but none of them compare to America. This also shows in stores. Watching vlogs the amount of anticipation in America for Halloween can be seen in every store, in the UK this isn't always the case. So today i thought i would talk to you about a few of my favourite places to shop for Halloween here in the UK.

Ghost Cake Pan £19.99
12 Person Party Box £9.99
Skull £9.99

Now i am pretty sure TKMaxx is an American company so the Halloween range they keep is never a surprise to me. One thing i love most about the Halloween range at TKMaxx is that although it is pretty cheap it isn't low quality. They have some amazing things in store and online, from monster cupcake kits to pumpkin ornaments and sequined skulls. Everything is always amazing quality and some pieces can even be carried through to christmas time which is just an added bonus.

All £1

So many people look at Poundland and think cheap and crappy and most of the time you are right. However when it comes to halloween they do step up their game abit. Now i'm not saying they have the most amazing decorations and accessories, but for a cheap few bits that will keep the kids happy it's great. One thing i love about Poundland when it comes to Halloween is the amount of variety they have. They stock everything from Decorations to Halloween films which for £1 is great.

Baby Darth Vader £7
Happy Halloween Shirt £8
Traditional Witch Costume £16.00

Now ASDA like TKMaxx is another American company (known as WalMart in America) meaning the halloween range is always huge. One thing i love the most about ASDA during the Halloween season is the costumes they have such an amazing range online and in stores that range from baby grows all the way through to adult fancy dress and it is always fun to look through them all. Most of the halloween stuff is also quite cheap which is always a positive.

Glass Pumpkin Drinks Despenser £15
Cookie Cutters £1
Cupcake Kit £2

Wilko is pretty much just like Poundland when it comes to Halloween. It has a great range of decorations and costumes for amazing prices. Now i would say that Wilko has better quality decorations so if you want to spend a little more without having to commit to the higher prices Wilko is a great option.

And so that was a run down of my favourite places to shop during the halloween season. I hope this post has given you a few ideas for where to shop for your halloween celebrations! Let me know what you've got planned for halloween down below!!

Song of The Week #16

14:00:00 0
Song of The Week #16
Hey Whisperers,

This weeks song of the week is from a band I've spoken about a few times on this blog now. I absolutely love listening to their covers of popular songs but this week I'm going to be talking about their original songs.

This Weeks Song Album of The Week is Up At Night by Cimorelli

Now i know that i usually do songs each week but this week i really couldn't pick a song so i went with the whole album instead. Up At Night is the debut album from Cimorelli and i am in love with it. I have been following Cimorelli for around 4 years now and every time they release a song i fall in love with it but this album is so much more. If you haven't heard of Cimorelli before they are a girl band consigning of 6 sisters who do covers on YouTube and who also write and perform their own music. They currently have 3.7 Million subscribers and they have 932,434,178 views on their main channel and  62,076,806 views on their Vevo channel.

The thing i love the most about this album is that it has such a wide variety of songs that it pretty much has a song for every mood. I brought this album on Pledge.Com when it was announced and I anxiously waited for it to be released and then I've pretty much listened to it daily since. I love how every single sister has their own part in each song which i think makes it so much more personal.

Of course i can't sit here and go through every single song because then this post would become so long you'd just x out so instead I'll just say my top 3 songs.

1- Acid Rain

Acid Rain is such an emotional and raw song that i instantly fell in love with it. To sum the song up it is pretty much a song about wanting someone so bad that even though you know they're no good for you you can't help wanting to be with them. It is such a relatable song that i think will speak to anyone who listens to it. It is so beautiful and it shows how vulnerable you are when you love some one, how no matter how wrong you know they are for you you can't help but fall deeper.

Favourite lyrics-

"You're addicted to the chase, think I'm addicted to the pain"
"Cause don't have a piece of me you have all of me"

2- Headlights

Headlights for me is such a meaningful song. It is a song about being lost, not knowing what direction you're going in and just wanting to go back to how things used to be. Over the past year I've felt that way quite a lot while I've adjusted to changes and i think this song pretty much sums up change.

Favourite Lyrics-

"Maybe I can find my way back to where I belong"
"I was fearless till i got let down"
" Maybe I'll be alright maybe I don't have to know "

3- Worth The Fight

This song is probably one of the most powerful songs on this album. This song is a life anthem, a song to listen too when you don't think there's any point anymore when you feel like giving up. It is such a strong song with such a strong message that i can't help but love what it stands for. It is such a universally relatable song that to be honest i think everyone should hear.

Favourite Lyrics-

"It's never too late to restart"

"You see the night's I've lived through, the scars the screams the fights i let myself loose i am imperfect i am a human i loose direction"

"It's only gonna make me better in the end"

"I choose to believe it's worth the fight, I'm worth the fight"

" i can make it through tonight even when its killing me just to breath"

"I'll be okay"

I hope you enjoyed this weeks Album of The Week! I love this album so much and i hope you do too!!

My 100th Post & My Favourite Drugstore Highlighters

20:00:00 2
My 100th Post & My Favourite Drugstore Highlighters
Hey Whisperers,

I can't believe this is my 100th post...like what?!?!?!?! I've absolutely loved blogging over the past 8 months and I'm honestly quite shocked that I got to 100 posts. I want to thank everyone for reading and joining my little corner over the past 8 months because it honestly does mean the world to me. I know that it's just 5 minutes out of your day but most of these posts take me hour to write, with taking the photo's, planning the post, writing and re-writing the post. It's a lot more work than I ever thought it was going to be but I'm so glad i stuck to it because it is so worth it! So now that sappy part is over, let's get into the post you've come here to read! Here's to post 100 and the hopefully for the hundreds of posts yet to come!

My Favourite Drugstore Highlighters

Over the past few months, like pretty much everyone else in the beauty world, i have been in love with highlighting. Whether I'm having a natural makeup day or a full blown glam from head to toe kinda day I am always wearing highlighter. A few months ago now i brought the Mac Mineralise Skin Finish Highlighting Powder in Lightscapade (Post on that here) and let me just tell you I love that highlighter, but if you're anything like me and you can't bring yourself to use the high end products everyday these drugstore highlighters are a perfect alternative because lets be honest some of the best makeup is in the drug stores now-a-days!

The first drugstore highlighter that I absolutely love is the MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter in Opalescent Amber. Now first of all the price of these highlighters is incredible, for £3 these highlighters are incredible (yes i know i've said that twice but they are seriously incredible!). When i first saw this highlighter I was a tad sceptical because it does look so dark but when applied on the cheek bone it looks beautiful. I tend to use this product more when i am doing a bronzed look because it is still dark on the skin but when blended with blush it gives the perfect subtle glow to the skin!

Next up is what I think/ am assuming is a new product. I picked up this highlighter a few weeks ago in boots and i've fell in love with it.The product i am talking about is the L'Oreal True Match Power Highlighter in Icy Glow.. One thing i love most about this product is the variety you get. The pan is split into 3 shades, an icy blue shade, a pearl shade and a beige shade. I love these shades mixed together (they're a close dupe to the mac highlighter i was talking about earlier) and alone.

The Goddess of Love Triple Baked Highlighter in Golden Goddess is pretty much my most used highlighter. If you've been here awhile you would know that i wrote a post on it a few months ago and i'm not going to lie it has pretty much been my main highlighter since. I use it for eye shadow, my brow bone , my nose  and obviously my cheekbones. I pretty much look like a golden disco ball once i finish applying this but i honestly can't help it. The pigmentation is incredible, the packaging is adorable and the colour is perfect. It's pretty much a heart shaped box of heaven.

Now i'm pretty sure everyone has heard of this highlighting palette, this is the Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette  and yes i'm about to rave about it like pretty much every other beauty blogger but i can't help it, this product is amazing, This palette has 3 powder highlights and one cream highlight and after i brought it the other week in a gift set  for £10 (I couldn't find it online but it is definitely still in stores) i fell completely in love with it. It contains one bronze cream highlighter, a purple/lavender powder highlight, rose gold/bronze highlight and a light yellow/gold toned highlight. Each powder is incredibly pigmented and blends beautifully into the skin. I 100% understand why so many people love this palette now i've tried it.

Repeat Offender Alert! I couldn't not add my other MUA highlighter to this list because it is another favourite of mine. The MUA Undress My Skin Highlighter in Pink Shimmer is pretty much the most beautiful, pale highlighter i've used. It leaves a lovely glow on the skin and alike all the other MUA highlighters it blends perfectly and isn't too powdery.

The last highlighter I love is the highlighter from the Revolution Euphoria Palette in Bronzed Euphoria. I've had this palette for awhile but i never really used it much then the other week i just decided to try it out and i fell in love it. The highlighter in this palette is a perfect Champagne colour and it blends so well. Now it isn't the most pigmented highlighter, but when i swatched this one it felt so creamy and soft that i couldn't help but love it.

And those where my favourite drugstore highlighters! I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know what your favourite drugstore highlighter is down below!

I love you guys!

My Top 5 Drugstore Foundations- All Under £10

My Top 5 Drugstore Foundations- All Under Β£10

Hey Whisperers,

So the other day i was going through my makeup collection and organising it all and I was looking through my foundation draw and realised i had quite a few foundations that i really love and so i thought i would share them with you guys. All of the foundations in today's post can be found at all/most drugstores and all of them are below £10. Now lets stop rambling and get onto the post.

My Top 5 Drugstore Foundations

My all time favourite and current everyday foundation is the L'Oreal True Match Foundation. This foundation has amazing coverage when applied with a beauty sponge and it blends beautifully into the skin. One thing i love most about this foundation is the variety of shades available, most drugstore brands only have a small selection of shades but the L'Oreal True Match has 23 shades in both warm and cool undertones making it an amazing foundation for everyone. This foundation is the most expensive of my top 5 coming it at £9.99 however, it can be found at stores like Asda here in the UK on offer for £7.99 quite regularly and it is almost always on a 3 for 2 offer in drugstores.

Next up is the Maybelline Super Stay Better Skin Foundation. The main thing i love about this foundation is how natural it looks on the skin, it pretty much is what the name says a better skin. It has a medium coverage which, on a good skin day, is all that i want. It allows your skin to breath while still giving it that even tone. One thing I do have to say about this foundation is that it isn't the most long lasting foundation so i would suggest powdering it and carrying a powder with you.

If you haven't heard of this next foundation where have you been for the past few years? This is of course the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation. Now i do love this foundation, it has great coverage and it does give the face a lovely glow however, the lightest shade is still a tad too dark for me so i can only use it during summer which kinda sucks because it is such a good foundation. Apart from that I would 100% recommend it however,i would definitely say applying it with a brush then going over it with a beauty sponge is the best way to apply it because it is quite thick but overall i love this foundation.

Next up is another L'Oreal Foundation, this is the L'Oreal Infallible 24Hr Matte Foundation. I love this foundation for when I  want a completely matte face,it blends amazingly and even though i do set it with powder you really don't need too. This foundation also has amazing lasting time and it is also waterproof which is always a bonus when it comes to foundation. It has medium to high coverage but it still feels quite lightweight which i definitely love. The only thing i don't really like about this foundation is the packaging as it is in a tube instead of a pump i feel like it is more messy, however it does have the most product in it out of all these products and has the cheapest price so i guess it isn't that much of a bad thing.

Last of all is the Maybelline Superstay 24Hr Foundation. I tried this foundation out at the same time as the Better Skin one and i fell in love with them both. This foundation is definitely more of a medium coverage foundation however you can 100% build it up but two pumps is more than enough for me. This foundation alike the L'Oreal 24Hr Matte foundation is perfect for people with oily skin as it definitely dries matte. I would suggest applying this with a damp beauty sponge like the B. Beauty sponge (post on that here) because it can be quite hard to blend into the skin with a brush but apart from that it is perfect for everyday wear.

So that's pretty much it, I hope you have enjoyed this post and that it has helped you if you're looking to try out a new foundation! If you have any questions that I haven't answered in this post don't hesitate to get in contact with me on any of my social media platforms which you can find in the contact me tab at the top of the page!

Birchbox Unboxing - October 2016

Birchbox Unboxing - October 2016

Hey Whisperers,

I'm so excited with this months Birch Box! When i got my first Birch Box last month i wasn't really expecting much but i was quite surprised and this month it's even better. I honestly never really expected these boxes to have much in them because they are so affordable but they are 100% living up to the hype.

This Months Theme

This months Birchbox theme is star signs and 4 elements, Fire,Water,Air and Earth. When you sign up to Birchbox you obviously have to do the usual name, date of birth and address stuff and so this month they used your Date Of Birth to determine what box design you got! For me i got Fire (my favourite of the 4 elements) because my star sign is Leo. I love this months design, especially the fact that the stars glow in the dark! However, I'm not too sure if the element you got changed the products you got or if was just the box design.

What I Got This Month

Rituals: The Ritual of Sakura Body Cream
Full Size RRP- £19.50

I am always up for trying out new body creams, especially during the autumn/winter times. This body cream by Rituals is probably one of the best smelling body creams I've ever tried, strangely it smells like a Yankee Candle, but definitely in a good way! It is just such a comforting scent and it is an AMAZING size, perfect for keeping in your bag on the go during these colder months.

Doux Me: Pure Spring Mist
Full Size RRP- £16

Now when I first saw this I was quite confused as I personally think that  water mists are more suited for the summer months but once I tried it out I was pleasantly surprised. This mist, as named, is a pure spring water mist and it feels amazing on the skin. I will probably still save it until summer because I don't think I will use it much through the winter but it is definitely a great product to have received and it, alike the body cream is a great size!

Whish: Renewing Mud Mask
Full Size RRP- £ £29

As most of you guys know I am all about my face masks! I haven't tried many mud masks so I am very excited to try this mask. When reading the directions for this product I was however quite surprised at the application process. It says in the information booklet that this mask should be left on for 15 seconds if you have sensitive skin and for no longer than 2 minutes in any other circumstance which I found quite strange and for the price that you pay for a full size version I'd want to wear it for longer! However it does make this mask great for people who don't have the time to sit down and wait 20-40 minutes for a mask to dry completely.

Number 4: Fluoro5 Elixer Restore & Repair Oil
Full Size RRP- £18

I love the thought of this product sooo much but i can't currently use it in my hair, which totally sucked all of the excitement out of it for me, but lets just go back to the moments before i realised i couldn't use it! This product is great for people with dull and dry hair! I tried it out on my hand and it does feel quite greasy so if that isn't your kind of thing then you probably won't like this product. It doesn't have a scent which personally think is great. The sample size isn't the largest but for a hair oil i think it's pretty good considering you only need a small amount.

Lord & Berry: 20100 Maxi Matte Crayon Lipstick in Intimacy

First of all i was so excited that this was a full size product, it is such a beautiful colour and i fell in love with it straight away. It is a beautiful rose colour and it glides onto lips perfectly. Something i love most about this product is that i think it would look amazing on a variety of skin tones so all of the Birchbox subscribers can actually use it. I have worn this lipstick quite a few times since i got it and i love the way it feels on the lips. When you apply it, it kind of feels tacky but after a few moments it completely dries and you pretty much forget you have it on because it feels like there's nothing there which i love. I will definitely be looking into buying some more shades!

Birchbox: Eyebrow Brush

When i saw that this product was listed as a bonus full size product i was kind of disappointed , I'm not going to lie. I have purchased some brow brushes like this in the past and I just can't seem to like them, they either end up in the bin or in my brush pot collecting extra powder that falls off more used brushes. However, i do see how this could be a good product for other people as it pretty much a staple for anyone who loves makeup. I just prefer a spoolie instead but that's just me being a picky so and so!

Total RRP for this month's Box

So as you can tell this months box was pretty amazing! What did you think of this months Birchbox? Did you get different products than me? Let me know down below in the comments!

My Fall/Winter Skincare Routine

My Fall/Winter Skincare Routine

Hey Whisperers,

So over the past few weeks I've been trying out a few new skincare products and so now that i have decided on my favourite ones and fallen into a routine I thought I would write a quick Skincare Routine post for you guys! I hope you enjoy

Boots Witch Hazel and Tea Tree Foaming Face Wash
Now no matter how much I love my makeup I always look forward to taking it off at the end of the day. I have been using this Boots Witch Hazel and Tea Tree Foaming Face Wash for a few months now and I absolutely love it. I pretty much use this to remove my makeup, i start off by washing my face and then i use it to gently remove my eye makeup.

Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel with Berry extract Refreshing Jelly Facial Scrub
After i fully rinse off the foaming face wash i move onto the Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel with Berry extract Refreshing Jelly Facial Scrub ( just a tad of a long name there). I use this to exfoliate my skin. I love the Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel range because although it is tough enough to get rid of makeup and clear out your pores it is still gentle enough for sensitive skin and it has really helped when it comes to my acne.

JeJu Natural Aloe Masks
£4.99 for 10
Now i don't do this step every day but it is something that i have been loving recently and that is using a sheet mask when I'm finished washing my skin. I buy my sheet masks from TKMaxx because you get so many masks for your money. The masks I've been using for the past few weeks is the JeJu Natural Aloe Masks which I got from TKMaxx for £4.99 (for 10 individually wrapped masks). I love to throw one of these on watch a YouTube video, or two... ok definitely two and then I just take off the mask throw it in the bin and massage the rest of the serum into my face.#

Lush Tea Tree Toner Tab
Next up is my toner. Now I'm not going to lie i forget about this step a lot but i thought I'd throw it in here anyways. When i do remember to tone my skin i use the Lush Tea Tree Toner Tab  which is only £1 i mean come on for that price it's an amazing buy. I use the tab itself about once a week, I dissolve it in hot water and basically steam my face until i look like a sweaty mess. I then take some of the water and add it to a spray bottle (a tip a member of the lush team told me) and use it as a toner. I keep this in the fridge (for up to 1-2 weeks) as suggested by the lush team.

Clean And Clear Dual Action Moisturiser
I tend to not moisturise if i use the sheet mask just because I am already quite oily so i don't want to over do it on the moisturising products but when I don't use a mask I use my Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturiser. If you've been here awhile you'll know that I've been using this product for quite awhile. It is great for my sensitive skin and it helps to keep my acne at bay which is always a plus.

And that's pretty much it. As you can see my skincare routine is pretty basic but that's just how i like it. I love how fast it is to get through when I finish work at 10:15pm i can be home, makeup off and in my pj's by 11:15 which is great!

Let me know below what your favourite skincare product is at the moment!!
