Mini Shopping Haul

Hey Whisperers,

So last Thursday i had the day off work and so I went shopping with one of my best friends. I realised i hadn't done a haul in a while and so i thought i would do a quick haul on all of the things i brought. I know this is beauty Tuesdays but i thought i would just make this one big post of all the things i brought instead of just the makeup.  So lets get on with the post!

What I Bought From Boots

£3.50
The first thing i brought from boots was the NYX Hot Single Eyeshadow in Chandelier. I wasn't really planning on buying this eyeshadow but i fell in love with it as soon as i saw it and for £3.50 i couldn't say no.

£5.50
The next thing i brought was the NYX Tame & Frame Tinted Brow Pomade in Espresso. I have been wanting to try a pomade on my brows for a while now and so when i saw this one i decided to give it ago.

£5.50
I then purchased the NYX Full Throttle Lipstick in Kiss The Dust. I loved this lipstick when i saw it on the Boots website and so i  knew that it was the one lipstick i really wanted to try. I added it to my wishlist and i was so happy when they had it in stock because quite a lot of the NYX products were not available as they only launched the day before in the Boots i went in so most of the products were either not out or had no samples.

£5.50

I have heard nothing but good things about the NYX Butter Glosses and so i decided to pick this one up in the shade Tre Leches. After trying it on after i took this picture i know for sure that it is quickly going to become one of my favourite summer lip colours.

What I Bought From Superdrug

£9.99
The first thing I brought from Superdrug is my everyday foundation the L'Oreal True Match Foundation in 1.R/1.C. I have just started a new bottle of this and so i picked up another bottle so that i have a backup.

£3.00
Next up i brought the MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter in Pink Shimmer. I got this highlighter because i don't have any pink toned highlighters in my collection and let's be honest it just looks beautiful.

£1.00
Next up i had to get another one of my all time favourite lip liners, the MUA Intense Colour Lip Liner in Caramel Nougat. This lip liner is the perfect nude colour and it is amazing for just £1!

£6.99
The L'Oreal counter was having a buy one get one half price deal on their products and so i decided to pick up this L'Oreal Le Blush in 160 Peach. This blush is insanely pigmented and i love the colour.

£2.25
Next up i got the L'Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation. Now i know looking at that price you're probably shocked, but i saw this foundation reduced on a stand and for £2.25 i had to get it! The only thing wrong with this foundation was that it was missing the sponge but i mean come on £2.25 from £9.99 i wasn't going to say no.

£1.49
I didn't really need another shower gel but when i smelt this Sweet Vanilla Madeleine Shower Cream from Cafe De Bain i fell in love with the smell and for £1.49 i couldn't not get it. The packaging of this product is also so adorable.

Bits And Bobs

£3.95
When i went into Lush i wasn't really planning on buying anything but when I saw they had a new bath bomb i couldn't help but buy it. Lava Lamp is one of the coolest looking bath bombs i've seen at lush and i'm so excited to try it.

£2.50
When i saw these bowls and spoons in Primark i knew that i had to get them they are just so adorable and will be perfect in the summer. The cute colours made them irresistible and i know my younger cousins will love these too!

£1.00
I have a serious addiction to buying socks and so when I saw these i couldn't not get them. The sayings on these Primark socks had me laughing so much obviously my favourite one being I Don't Need You I Have Wifi !

I hope you enjoyed this Mini Shopping Haul! If you want me to a review on any of the products mentioned let me know below!!

My Drugstore Lipstick Wishlist

Hey Whisperers,

So the other week i did a post on my Mac Lipstick Wishlist (read that post here) and so today i would do a blog post on my 'drugstore' lipsticks. I love looking at what is new at the drugstore and so when i was looking online today i found so many new lipsticks that I want to try out and so i thought i would share my wishlist with you guys!

My Drugstore Lipstick Wishlist

When i came across this lipstick on the boots website i fell in love. It has the most beautiful, rich, purple colour to it, i don't own any Soap & Glory lipsticks so i really want to try these lipsticks to see how good they are.

Nyx Full Throttle Lipstick - Kiss The Dust

Ever since NYX started selling makeup in the UK i have been waiting for it to hit stores. I look at the products online all the time but i don't want to buy any until I've swatched them in person. I saw this Full Throttle Lipstick on Boots this morning and fell in love with it. It looks like the perfect nude shade and i can't wait to go into store and swatch it.

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick - Vintage

I saw these lipstick suede lipsticks on KBaby's YouTube channel and they looked amazing and when i saw them on boots i fell even more in love.I was going to add the grey colour to this list but i am pretty sure that i wouldn't be able to pull it off so i chose Vintage instead. I love how deep this colour is and i think it would look great with a winged liner.

Makeup Revolution Lip Power - It's My Life

I saw this product on the Superdrug website and i thought it was great for the price (£3). I love the nude colour of the lipstick and the additional gloss just makes it even more amazing. I love the fact that you get a matching gloss because sometimes it's hard to find a gloss that matches the nude shade you're wearing.

GOSH Velvet Touch Lipstick - 171 Twilight

And of course another dark purple. I absolutely love dark purple lipsticks so when i saw this i obviously fell in love. This shade has a brown undertone to it which i love, i haven't tried any GOSH lipsticks so hopefully i will like this when i swatch it in store because the colour is beautiful.

I hope you enjoyed this quick post on my drugstore lipstick wish list! If you have tried any of these lipsticks let me know in the comments below.

Song of the week #6

Hey Whisperers,

Welcome to this weeks song of the week. I'm pretty sure most of you will have already heard this song but i can't help but make it my song of the week this week it is just so full of emotion and I'm in love with it.

This week's song of the week is I Hate You I Love You by Gnash ft Olivia O'Brien

The first time i heard this song i was listening to a random playlist on spotify and i instantly fell in love. I forgot the name to the song after that, until a few days later when i heard it on Kylie Jenner's snapchat and re found it. I added it to one of my playlists and even though i loved the song it never really became one of my favourites, not until this past week. I don't know what it was but every time i sat down to write a blog post it was my go to song.

This song is one of the most meaningful songs i have ever heard. The lyrics are so meaningful and they are something that i'm sure all of us can relate to. Before this song i had never really heard of either of these artists but since then i have listened to some of their other songs and i haven't really fell in love with any of them. Which kind of sucks.

The mixture of Gnash's rapping and Olivia's singing is so perfect in this song and it really does tell a story. There are so many rappers out there but Gnash's voice is just something so different from what i have heard before and that's why i think so many people have fell in love with the song. Olivia's voice makes the song for me though, although Gnash's rapping is the main part of the song her voice just gives the song a little extra.

I know that this song is going to be one of my most played songs for a while to come.

I hope you enjoyed this weeks song of the week. Let me know what your favourite song is at the moment below!

Soph xoxo

Short Girl Problems

Welcome back Whisperers,

Growing up i was always the short kid, it never really bothered me and it still doesn't. I love being short. But sometimes being 4ft10 has it's downsides and so today i thought i would write a quick post all about short girl problems!

10 Short Girl Problems

1- Not being able to reach things in the supermarket-

Now for me this is a bigger problem than it is for most short people, not only because i can't reach the top shelf but also because i work in a supermarket. I have had to ask customers to grab stuff for me because I can't reach, I mean that is literally my job and I can't do it.

2-Not being able to see your entire face in the mirror

More than once, i haven't been able to see my whole face in a public bathroom mirror and sometimes i can only see the top of my head. How am i supposed to check my lipstick if i can't see my mouth, at least I'll know if my hair looks ok though right?

3- Short jeans are still too long

Ok so every time i buy jeans i buy the smallest length (so far the shortest I've been able to find is 28" at Primark) and they are still way too long. I pretty much go round with the bottom of my jeans scrunched at the ankles because i can't find any short enough.

4- My feet never touch the floor when I'm sitting on a chair

Whenever i sit on a chair i either have to sit barley with my ass on the seat so my feet touch the floor or sit with my back against the seat and have my feet dangling over the edge. On some chairs i can lower them but by the time they are low enough for my feet to touch the floor i may as well just sit on the floor instead.

5- Even kids are taller than me

I love kids but sometimes they just make me feel smaller than i already am. I can be around a group of kids and feel great but there will always be one kid that is taller than me. I mean my 13 year old cousin is taller than me!!

6- You can't see over people in crowds

Now this may not be a problem for all short girls but for me i know it definitely is. I absolutely hate being in the middle of a crowd because i can't see where i am going, what is  in front of me and it just makes me panic. It also sucks when you're at a concert because if that person in front of you is tall you have no chance at seeing the show.

7-Being in the front row of school pictures

If you are anything like me, you hate people taking pictures of you and even more when you're in your school uniform. Never mind having to be in the front row EVERY YEAR. I envy the taller kids who could hide in the back row instead of being in the front row of every picture, because at least they could hide if they were having a bad hair day. Me? nope stuck in the front row.

8- You're always described as cute

Now although this could be taken as a compliment, being called cute gets so annoying after awhile, it kind of makes you feel like a little kid. You never get called 'hot' by a guy either, it's always cute like I'm not trying to get adopted at the pet store.

9- You always have to look up when talking to people

Looking up to people makes your neck kills, but you feel rude if you look away so you just carry on looking up even though your neck hurt and by that point you just want them to shut up so you can rest your neck.

10- No matter how high your heels are you're still the smallest person at the party

I have been to so many parties and still been the smallest person there no matter how high my heels are. Like if I'm going through the pain of wearing these feet killers i at least want to be taller than my 13 year old cousin i mean come on.

Now even though there are so many problems that come along with being a short girl there are also many plus points! And so here are just a few plus points of being short!

1- You always have more legroom on planes, buses and trains because your legs aren't as long.

2- There's no such thing as a 'low ceiling' when it comes to being small so you can get through small spaces easily.

3-You never really have to worry about being taller than your date (and yes i know some guys like taller girls but hey sometimes the girl just wants to be the short one in the relationship ok?)

4- You look way younger than you are which as you get older is a great thing.

5- Your feet are small enough to fit in kids shoes which saves you ALOT of money.

So although there are a lot of problems when it comes to being small there are so many good things that come with it and i know that i wouldn't change being small for anything!

I hope you enjoyed this post on short girl problems! If you're short let me know what short girl problems you hate!

BeautyBay Eyeshadow Palettes - Product Review

Hey Whisperers,

So a few weeks ago I was looking online for some new makeup products ( because a girl can never have too much makeup) and i came across BeautyBay.com and i instantly fell in love. The website has so many incredible products and brands. I wasn't really looking for anything in particular so when i came across the Beauty Bay eyeshadow palettes which were 2for1 i decided to try them out and so today i thought i would do a review of them for you.

I had never ordered from this website before so i didn't know how long it would take for my order to be delivered but i was pleasantly surprised. I ordered my palettes and two Morphe brushes on Saturday night and they were delivered Monday morning. Ordering from the website is very simple and i am definitely going to order from them again. Now that the boring stuff is over lets get into the review!

The first thing that i noticed when i got these products in the mail is the size of them. I paid £9.95 for both of these palettes (with the 2for1 offer) and they are a lot bigger than i expected. If you have been here for a while you know that i am a huge sucker for packaging and with this it was no different. I love the plain black packaging it just makes the product look so sleek which i love.

However, I do have one flaw to the packaging of this product. On the inside of the palette the eye shadows themselves are surrounded by a foam like black sheet which on both of my palettes is peeling up no matter how much i push it back down. Of course this is just a small thing and if that kind of thing doesn't bother you then it's nothing but it does annoy me just a little bit because it comes up around a few of the eye shadows which means pressing it down, which often means getting eyeshadow all over the foam.

The eye shadows themselves are not the most pigmented eye shadows i have ever used but for the price i can't really complain. The size of the eye shadows is insane and you do get a lot of product for your money so layering the eye shadows is not that bad. The two palettes i ordered were the Flawless Couture Eyeshadow Palette and the Flawless Rose Eyeshadow Palette. Alike Makeup Revolution eyeshadow palette (read that post here) i thought i would do another shade by shade review, because to be honest i just enjoyed writing it and i think it helps more to hear about each shade.

All Shade Names found on BeautyBay.com

Flawless Couture Eyeshadow Palette Shade By Shade

Ivory Matte- The first shade in the palette is pretty much what the name says, an ivory matte. I love using this eyeshadow to set my base because it is the perfect nude eyeshadow.

Copper Metallic- The copper metallic colour is probably one of my favourite colours in this palette. I love pairing this eyeshadow with a darker crease. However,to me this eyeshadow is a lot more of a orange colour instead of copper, so if you don't like orange eye shadows this is probably not going to be a hit for you.

Champagne Shimmer- I absolutely love this shade. Although this shade is a shimmer shade it only has a small amount of shimmer in it so it is great for a subtle brow bone and inner corner highlight. It

Russet Metallic- This eyeshadow for me is pretty much the same as Copper Metallic, but it is a lot more pigmented, which for some people would be great but I just I don't know i like the eyeshadow itself but the repetition just puts me off it a little.

Rosy Brown Matte- This eyeshadow is the perfect crease colour and is probably going to be my most used eyeshadow in this palette. It is pigmented enough to give the perfect shadow but not too pigmented that it leaves you with a harsh line. I love it.

Tan Shimmer- This shade is pretty much just your average brown shimmer. It isn't very pigmented so it would definitely need a few layers to make it opaque but it is a great lid shade if you just want a little something on the eye.

Coffee Shimmer- This shade is a beautiful light brown shimmer and i love it. In the palette this eyeshadow looks a lot lighter than it actually is on the skin but it is a beautiful colour. This colour is probably one of the most pigmented eye shadows in the palette and it has the most beautiful shimmer.

Taupe Shimmer- This shimmer for me is more of a metallic purple colour than a taupe. It is a beautiful purple-grey shadow and it looks amazing on the skin. I think this shadow would be great for brown eyes because it does have the beautiful purple undertones.

Light Grey/ Silver Shimmer - This shadow is a strange colour to me. In the palette it looks very light but on the skin it is a lot more peachy/tan which i found very strange. Alike some of the other shimmers this is a great lid colour.

Fawn Shimmer- This eyeshadow, alike the previous shadow is a lot darker when swatched however i prefer the swatch a lot more than the colour it looks in the pan. This colour is like a mix between Copper Metallic and Rosy Brown Matte and i am in love with it.

Dark Brown Shimmer- When i saw that this was the name of this shadow i was quite confused because to me this colour both in the pan and swatched looks a lot more purple than brown. I think this shadow would look great in a smokey eye and i can't wait to try it out.

Black Matte- This eyeshadow is pretty much your normal black eyeshadow. It isn't very pigmented and it does appear more of a very dark grey when swatched but when layered it does become very dark.

All Shade Names found on BeautyBay.com

Flawless Rose Eyeshadow Palette Shade By Shade

Cream Matte- This shade is pretty much the same shade as the previous palette. It is the perfect base shade.

Coral Shimmer- This eyeshadow is a perfect coral shade. It is so beautiful and the shimmer just makes it look even more beautiful. This is definitely going to be one of my most used shades from this palette.

Pale Peach Shimmer- This shadow is a very sheer shimmer which is great if you just want to add a little shimmer on top of an existing eyeshadow. It would also be great for highlighting the brow bone and inner corner if you wanted a subtle highlight.

Salmon Pink Shimmer- This shade reminds me a lot of Mac's Springsheen Blush.  It is a beautiful pink shade with what looks like gold shimmer when swatched.

Soft Pink Glitter- This shade is the perfect baby pink glitter shade. It is very glittery and is one of the most pigmented colours in the palette. I'm not quite sure how i am going to use this shadow yet but i know that i will find a way.

Dusky Pink Glitter- This shade is a more brown toned pink shade. This is a beautiful shade for the lid and i know i will be using this shadow a lot. It is quite pigmented, but it isn't so glittery that you don't see the colour which is great.

Rose Pink Matte- This matte shade is the perfect crease colour. It isn't very pigmented so it does take quite a bit of layering to get a pigmented shade but i like that when i am using a pink shade in my crease because it is so easy to end up with eyeshadow that just makes you look ill.

Pink Champagne Shimmer- This shade to me is definitely the most shimmery shade. It has a grey undertone so it isn't a bold pink which i love, it is just a little darker than Dusky Pink which i love.

Pale Brown Matte- Looking at this shade in the palette it definitely doesn't look matte. This colour to me isn't really a brown and instead is more of a grey which i love but i do wish it was a brown because this palette kind of lack that brown shade.

Puce Metallic- This colour to me is a mix of Salmon Pink and Soft Pink. It is a beautiful pink shade it isn't too bright so it is definitely wearable but it is still noticeably pink unlike other shadows i have used in the past.

Deep Purple Matte- This is my favourite colour in the whole palette. This deep purple is gorgeous. It looks bright in the pan but when swatched it is a lot deeper and it is perfect. It is a great colour for smokey eyes however i don't know how i would match it with other colours in this palette it kind of sticks out a little.

Black Matte- This is the exact same black as the previous palette. It isn't very pigmented and is definitely more of a grey colour than a black however i think for this palette it is a lot better because it works more with the pink shades.

Overall i do love both of these palettes and for the price i really can't complain. The eyeshadows are all very soft and even though they aren't the most pigmented they are great shadows. I would highly suggest these palettes if you love natural makeup and/or if you are just getting into makeup because they offer you a variety of shades to test out. The offer is still on these palettes so head over to the website to check them out (link here)

Sophie Cooks- Mug Cake

Hey Whisperers,

Welcome to another Sophie cooks. So around a year ago i used to be addicted to making mug cakes i would make them all the time and i absolutely loved them. These mug cakes are perfect if you want a little something sweet of a night time without pigging out too much. I hope you enjoy this recipe.

What You Will Need

4 Tbs Flour
 2 Tbs Cocoa Powder
3 Tbs Sugar
3 Tbs Milk
3 Tbs Oil
1 Egg
Pinch of Salt
Splash of vanilla (Optional)
3 Tbs Chocolate Chips (Optional)
Table Spoon
Small Whisk
Mug (Or small ramekin)

Lets Cook!

The first thing you need to do is measure out all of your dry ingredients into the mug. I find it easiest to add the flour, and cocoa powder first and then the sugar and salt. (if you are using chocolate chips this is the time to add them too)

After adding all the dry ingredients to the mug make sure to mix them thoroughly, it is so easy to miss a lump of flour and believe me that doesn't taste good I've done it a few times myself.

After mixing the dry ingredients it is time to add the wet ingredients into the mug. I usually add the milk and oil first and then the egg. (And the vanilla if you choose to use it)

Next up is the mixing. I would suggest mixing the ingredients first with a spoon because it can get messy but after the majority of the dry ingredients is mixed in using a whisk is so much better. I normally whisk for around a minute to make sure that all of the dry ingredients are incorporated. I then go around the bottom of the mug with a spoon because their are always pockets of flour at the bottom.

After mixing it all together all that's left is to cook it. To cook the mug cake simply microwave it for 2 minutes, i normally check mine after 1:30 mins because these are so easy to burn.

After the two minutes your mug cake will have risen quite a lot but it does go down once you take it out of the microwave. I then topped mine with some Vanilla Ice Cream and it's time to eat!

Just look at that doesn't it just make your mouth water

I hope you enjoyed this edition of Sophie Cooks! If you make this mug cake send me a picture on twitter or instagram using the #Muglife.

Soph xoxo

Song of the week #5

Welcome Back Whisperers,

This weeks song of the week is a little different to my past song of the weeks because there isn't yet a video for this song. I know that that sucks however, i still wanted to keep this post true to what i have been listening too and so i will link a live performance of this song instead of a music video.

This weeks song of the week is Fall Back by Cimorelli

I first became a fan of the Cimorelli sisters when i heard their song Wings (check that out here). To me that song was just full of meaning and love that i instantly fell in love with the band, Ever since then i have pretty much been obsessed with their YouTube channel.

If you haven't heard of Cimorelli i can guarantee that after listening to some of their songs you'll be hooked on their music too. The band consists of 6 sisters (in age order) Christina, Katherine, Lisa, Amy, Lauren and Dani. The bond the sisters have is incredible and it is something that i personally find amazing. The girls write and perform their own music but they also do some phenomenal covers which i am obsessed with.

Fall Back is a song off the band's first album which came out on Tuesday (get that here believe me it's worth it, if you have seen my twitter you probably already know I'm obsessed). This song is a song all about not being able to resist falling for someone you once loved, which i know is a hard thing for most of us and so i instantly loved it. It is such a catchy song so it is impossible not to get it stuck in your head.

I hope you enjoyed this song of the week, sorry there isn't a video but i do have tonnes of suggestions below so hopefully that makes up for it!!

Soph xoxo

They're people too- Celebrity Hate Comments

Hey Whisperers,

No matter what time of day that you go on social media i can guarantee that someone is sat spreading hate on a celebrity's page. Now so many people get defensive about this topic and at first i was a bit weary about writing this post but i decided to do it anyway because this is my corner of the Internet and i honestly believe that this needs to be said.

Putting hate on someone's social media is not the same as sharing your opinion.

Almost every time i see someone get confronted about writing hate i see the comment ' i am allowed to have an opinion'  and yes although that is true it doesn't mean that you have the right to sit down and type it on a celebrity's instagram page for thousands to see. Having an opinion is not the same as hate it is completely different.

Something that I, and I'm sure many other people that thought, is why. Why do people feel the need to point out celebrities 'flaws'. Most people say jealousy and i do think that that is a big part of the issue but i do also believe that quite a few people do it for the attention. Every celebrity has a fan base and most fans are extremely protective of the celebrity they support so it isn't long until they bite back at the 'hater' and a lot of  'haters' feed of that attention.

"It's like some of you forget that just because she has fame she is a real person. Would you comment on anyone else's photos trying to slate them, gushing out their insecurities? No - because you'd look like an utter nob for trying to drag someone down."

I saw Joe's comment on a recent Katie Price picture and it spoke to me because everything he says is 100% true. Most people wouldn't think about commenting on a 'normal person's' pictures pointing out their insecurities most of the time they would just like it and move on. But not on celebrities. One thing that he pointed out which so many people seem to forget is that just because someone is famous it doesn't mean that they aren't a person. They still have feelings and they don't deserve to deal with the hate they get.

Here are a few hate comments i found scrolling through my instagram-

" What a gay cunt r u a boy or a girl"
On MannyMua's Instagram

"Harry Styles sucks can't sing ugly bitch"
On Harry Styles Instagram

"So sick of these talentless self absorbed rich bitches"
On Kim Kardashian Wests Instagram

These three comments were some of the most non vulgar comments i could find and honestly the amount that i saw on just the top 6 posts on my instagram was quite upsetting. I do get annoyed when i see stuff like this because as i mentioned before celebrities are still people and i don't know why people don't see that.

The Manny Mua hate comment was one comment which did really anger me because i just don't understand or think that any ones sexuality should ever be used as a negative and 'flaw'. So what if Manny is gay and makes money from doing makeup? If anything that is something incredible it is a positive thing, it shows that society and companies are moving on from the stereotypical norms and are becoming more accepting of people in both the gay community and of male make up artists, something which in the past has been frowned upon and deemed unacceptable. It is also amazing that he can make a living doing something he loves which is something that not everybody can do, so why does that call for hate? It doesn't.

Me personally, I would never write hate on anybodies post, not only because it is rude but also because I just don't see the point. I might see a celebrities post and absolutley hate the outfit they are wearing, but is it really affecting me - no. It's none of my business what they are wearing or how blended their contour is, or what caption they've added, it's nobodies business but theirs. That is why i never understood the big deal over Kim Kardashians nude selfie. If Kim Kardashian wants to post a nude selfie on Instagram good for her I'm glad she loves her body, would I do it - no because it isn't the kind of thing i would do but that doesn't make it my right to comment on it. So many people think it is their right to point out celebrities flaws but it's not.

People need to think before they type. You never know what people are going through. Your one comment could be the comment that pushes them over the edge.

At the end of the day i guess that is all i can really say. More people need to realise that just because somebody is famous it does not give you the right to publicly target them. They are people too. Let me know your opinions on celebrity hate comments below!

Thanks for reading,
Soph xoxo

Maybelline Baby Lips- Product Review

Hey Whisperers,

So the other week when i was sorting out my makeup storage ( read about that here) i came across my Maybelline Baby Lips and i realised that i have quite a few and so today i thought i would do a quick review on the ones i have for you guys. In total i have 8 of the baby lips lip balms, 5 from the original range, 2 from the Electro range and 1 of the Dr Rescue ones.

Maybelline Baby Lips Dr Rescue- Too Cool

This lip balm is one of my most recent buys. The Dr Rescue lip balms have 'medicated care' in them to help with more severe chapped and dry lips. The Too Cool lip balm has a very minty smell and leaves my lips feeling cool, which i love. One thing i love most about this lip balm is that although it does help hydrate the lips it also gives a nice sheen to the lips on days where i just want a nice gloss on the lips.

Maybelline Baby Lips Electro- Strike A Rose

This is the first of the two electro lip balms that i have from Maybelline. This lip balm gives a very bright pink colour to the lips (perfect for parties and clubs)  which i wasn't quite expecting when i brought it. The colour pay off of this lip balm is insane and it still hydrates the lips. One thing i don't like about this particular lip balm however is the smell, this lip balm to me smells like an air freshener, not exactly what i want to smell when I'm putting something on my lips. However apart from that it is pretty good.

Alike the previous Electro lip balm this lip balm is also quite pigmented. This lip balm is a purple lip balm so the pigmentation does make it a little less wearable, however like i said previously these lip balms would be perfect for parties or clubbing. This lip balm is also very hydrating. Alongside this the smell of this lip balm is a lot less potent than the previous one which makes it a lot easier to wear.

This lip balm is the first of the 5 original baby lips that i have and it is by far my favourite in my whole collection. This lip balm is the perfect hydrating lip balm and in my opinion it is more hydrating than the Dr Rescue one. This lip balm is also clear which is great for everyday use. I keep this lip balm next to my bed at all times and i apply it when i wake up and before i go to bed and it leaves my lips feeling 'baby smooth' which is great considering i use so many matte lipsticks. This lip balm also has a sweet smell, the only thing i can really compare it to is Haribo Eggs (which just makes it smell delicious) if you are thinking of buying any of these lip balms i highly suggest you get this one.

This lip balm is the perfect day time lip balm. It has a lovely sweet cherry scent and it leaves a perfect red sheen on the lips. This lip balm is definitely one of my favourites out of my collection, the only problem with this one is if you do apply too much it is very obvious because of how pigmented it is so you do have to be careful when applying it so that you don't get any outside of your lip line.

Pink punch is a lot like Cherry Me however it is a bright pink colour. The colour of the lip balm is the same as the tube so it is quite a daring colour to wear. Alike all of the other lip balms it is very hydrating and has a scent. The smell of this lip balm for me is just like Strike A Rose Electro balm and smells quite air freshener like which is kind of a put off for me.

Peach Kiss is another one of my favourites in the collection. Apart from having one of the cutest packaging's out of the range it also gives a lovely nude sheen to the lips, something that i love. The smell of this lip balm is also quite muted but it does have a subtle peach scent which i love.  This lip balm is probably one of my most used summer lip colours because it gives me a slight tint while keeping my lips moisturised.

Maybelline Baby Lips-  Melon Mania

This is the last of all of my baby lips and also my most recently brought one. I brought this one on sale for £2 and i am so glad that i picked it up. This lip balm is the same colour as the writing on the tube however unlike previous lip balms it isn't as pigmented making it a perfect day time colour. The scent of this lip balm is also not as potent and instead is a quite subtle melon scent.

Overall the baby lips lip balms are definitely my favourite lip balms of all time and i would 100% recommend them to anyone. If you're looking for an affordable lip balm or just a nice lip tint these are definitely a good option.

I hope you enjoyed this post, if you have a favourite Baby Lips let me know below!

Casmara Peel Off Face Mask - Product Walk Through and Review

Welcome back Whisperers,

So the other week i was shopping in TKMaxx when i came across this face mask and i couldn't help buying it. The face mask i brought was the Casmara balancing algae peel off face mask. When i first saw it i was quite weary because of the bright red colour but then i just got more and more curious and had to try it out and so i thought i would bring you guys along on the journey. So let's do this face mask together.

Price- £4.99

Contents-

In the pack you get two packets- Packet 1 is a powder, Packet 2 is a gel. You also get an instruction leaflet, a face cream and a spatula. To mix this all together you use the lid of the container as a bowl which is very convenient because this would probably ruin any other container you use.

Making the face mask

First of all before you mix any of the ingredients together you have to apply the balancing cream all over your face to prepare your skin for the face mask. Putting this on before also gives it time to settle into the skin.

Next up you have to empty the contents of packet 1 into the lid. When doing this i ripped the packet open, which is what the instructions show however i would suggest using scissors instead because this powder goes everywhere. This powder is quite fine and has white 'pips' in it, i have no clue what they were because i couldn't tell from the packaging because the majority of the packaging was in a foreign language.

You then need to add packet two into the lid. I wasn't quite sure what to expect with this packet so when i opened it i was quite shocked. Getting this gel out of the packet was pretty messy, having it in a bottle would have been much easier.

Now it's time to mix. I can not stress enough how important it is to mix this slowly it goes EVERYWHERE. The powder is like powdered sugar and it gets on everything and the gel is so close to the top of the pot that it's impossible to mix it without getting messy. I did think that the 'pips' would dissolve but they didn't which surprised me. On the instructions it says mix for 40 seconds but i would mix it for a little less because mine was getting thick/drying already.

Enjoy this very unflattering picture of me in the mask

And last of all, apply it to the face, the packaging says to apply it all over the face including the eyebrows and lips i would however leave the lips uncovered, it made them feel amazing but you can't drink or talk with this mask on. This mask is probably the most thick face mask i have ever used and i still had quite a lot left to use so if you prefer a thinner mask i would suggest only using half the mixture and saving the rest. The drying time of this mask was quite short and when i peeled it off it felt a lot like play-dough which was very strange. After you take of the mask you are supposed to apply the balancing cream again to help protect your skin.

Overall i did really like trying this mask but i probably wouldn't try it again. The making of the mask was very easy however i didn't like the mask itself. It was very thick and didn't smell great which i know isn't a big issue but if I'm going to sit with something on my face for 10-15 minutes i don't want it to smell bad.
