For the love of coffee.

For the love of coffee.

Hey Whisperers,

For the past two years i have been completely in love with my Tassimo coffee machine. It makes getting the perfect coffee so easy, however over the past few months it's started to drive me crazy. My tassimo machine is quite large and although i love my coffee i do sometimes go through periods of not wanting to drink it at all and my tassimo just sits there collecting dust.

The other day while shopping i tried out the Nescafe Dolce Gusto coffee machine and i fell in love. The small machine was amazing compared to the big bulky tassimo i already have and it was quiet. Something my Tassimo definitely isn't. There isn't anything wrong with my tassimo machine, it is just loud, bulky and is getting a little old. Alongside the machine itself getting the specific flavours of drinks i like is hard and it is quite pricey to order off the website as you have to spend £40 before they will deliver, which is a lot of money on coffee. Because of this i decided to get a new machine.

The machine i decided to get is the Nescafe Dolce Gusto Oblo Black. I got my machine from Argos in the sale and it cost me £44.99, which isn't too bad for a coffee machine. I love the shape and size of the machine as it isn't too small for what i need and fits perfectly behind the door in my kitchen,  The machine itself is a slim black machine, it has hot and cold settings for both hot and chilled drinks and has a 0.8l tank. The tank is a lot smaller than my old Tassimo machine which i love because it means i will be wasting less water.

One of the main things that drew me to this machine was not only the style, price and size but also the availability and range of the pods themselves. The Nescafe range is INCREDIBLE. There are so many different kinds, strengths, sizes and flavours of not only coffee and tea but also fruit and iced drinks. My favourite hot drink is a Chai Tea Latte, a drink i first tried when i got my Tassimo machine, However, it is so hard to get a hold of in the tassimo capsules. However most shops stock it in the Nescafe range. Alongside this the iced drinks are also some of my favourites and i love the fact that the Nescafe machine gives you the option for hot or cold drinks on the machine.

I know this post was a little more informative than normal but i am completely in love with my new coffee machine and i thought i would just let you guys know a little bit about it! If you have any drink flavours you think i should try let me know in the comments below!

My top 10 favourite youtubers!

13:15:00 0
My top 10 favourite youtubers!

Hey Whisperers,

I've been a huge fan of YouTube for the past 5 years and over the past 5 years i have fell more and more in love with YouTube. I don't really have a specific kind of YouTuber that i watch because i do watch so many but today i thought i would share my top 10 YouTubers with you!

GRAV3YARDGIRL

First on the list is Grav3yardgirl. I've been watching Bunny for 5 years, she was one of the first people i subscribed to on YouTube and i am so glad i did. Her wacky personality and love for her subscribers is INSANE! Growing up i never really had a person i looked up to but i definitely look up to Bunny i don't know why, but she has just been the one YouTuber i go to watch when i feel down because i know her videos will make me smile. She is just such a positive person and i love the fact that she is so accepting of everyone and doesn't exclude anyone.

DAILY BUMPS

Second on the list is, Daily Bumps. Daily Bumps is a daily vlogging channel ran by Missy and Bryan Lanning and i LOVE it. I first started watching Daily Bumps in 2014 when they first had their son Oliver and let me just tell you he is the cutest little boy ever. I've followed the channel throughout the past two years and i don't know what it is about them but i can't help but tune in everyday to watch their vlogs!

SHAYTARDS

Next up is the Shaytards. The Shaytards are also family vloggers and they are amazing. I've been watching the Shaytards for 5 years now and they were actually the first youtube channel i ever subscribed to. Over the past 5 years I've seen the shaytards family go from a family of 6 living in LA to a family of 7 who travel the country, live in Idaho and have an amazing channel.

NIKKIETUTORIAL

Ok so i'm maybe more than a little bit in love with this YouTube channel. Nikkietutorials does the most AMAZING makeup tutorials and her makeup is always beautiful. One thing i love about Nikkie is the fact that although she loves makeup she constantly reminds her viewers that you don't have to wear makeup to look beautiful it just accentuates the beauty you already have. One of my favourite videos my Nikkie is the power of makeup because of how powerful the message behind it was.

Ellie and Jared

Next up is Ellie and Jared. Ellie and Jared are another set of daily vloggers and they are adorable. They have been through so much which they have shared on their youtube channel and i can only wish that one day i will be in a relationship as strong as theirs. I've been subscribed to Ellie and Jared's channel since they had their first son Jackson and i have loved seeing their family grow and seeing their friendships with other vloggers like Daily Bumps grow too.

Cimorelli

The cimorelli sisters are an amazing band and i am completely in love with their music. I have been subscribed to the cimorelli channel for around 3 years and i love the message that they send to their subscribers. The cimorelli sisters each have a completely different personality which makes watching their videos so much fun. Their original songs are amazing some of my favourites are; You're Worth It, Hearts on Fire and I got you.

Danisnotonfire

Ok so i'm guessing you know who Danisnotonfire is and if not where have you been.. I don't remember when i first subscribed to Dan but i am so glad i did. His videos are hilarious and i can't help but going back and re watching most of them. One series that Dan does called Internet Support Group is one of my favourite series as it is both funny and gives viewers the opportunity to interact with Dan.

Clevverstyle

I only recently subscribed to this channel (around 5 months ago) and i look forward to their videos every week. Clevver style is part of the Clevver youtube channels and the 'shows' on the channel are hilarious my favourite being Beauty Break.

Danandphilgames

I'm not much of a gamer but i love danandphilgames. This channel is run by Dan Howell (Danisnotonfire) and Phil Lester (AmazingPhil) and the content is  great. One of my favourite series they have created is the Sims series simply because they get so into the game that it's hard not to love it.

Zoella

I'm pretty much sure that anyone who's ever been on the Internet knows who Zoella aka Zoe Sugg is. It's pretty hard not to love Zoe's channel, her personality is so bubbly and kind and it shows in her videos. Her love for her subscribers is insane and i also love the fact that she does share so much about her anxiety on her channel because although i don't suffer from anxiety i know how much her advice helps people.

So those where my top 10 youtubers! I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know below your favourite youtubers!!

Thank you for reading,

The Zoella Snapchat Scandal

12:00:00 0
The Zoella Snapchat Scandal

Hey Whisperers,

I've been sat here for the past 10 minutes trying to decide if i was going to write this post. I am such a huge fan of YouTube (something that you'll see in Sunday's post), that i do get annoyed when I log onto my social media accounts and see that yet again there is someone targeting a YouTuber because of something they've done on Twitter, Instagram and this time Snapchat. I'm guessing most of you know the massive YouTube star Zoella. She is a beauty and lifestyle blogger and vlogger and she has over 10 million followers on YouTube. Now i am a fan of Zoella so i understand that this post could come across as biased but i thought I'd go ahead and write it anyway.

Zoe has a lot of subscribers, they vary in age but the majority of her subscribers are teenagers. On Sunday Zoe posted a goodnight snapchat before she logged off snapchat for the night. A picture which let's be honest is more reserved than those most teens post now-a-days, believe me i would know. The picture that Zoe posted has been labelled as  a 'scantily- clad, sexy image', by The Sun newspaper. Now i do understand that Zoe does have younger fans, however a picture of her in what let's be honest most girls probably sleep in isn't the worst thing she could have shared on her Snapchat account.

Now, one thing that annoys me most about this article is the way that 'us' Zoe's subscribers are described. 'Children, Tweens and Teenagers, who flock to watch her makeup tutorials and buy her merchandise'. One thing that i don't think that many people think about when they look at YouTubers subscribers is the people behind the screen. Yes, I, and many other people do love to sit and watch YouTubers like Zoe and the one thing many people don't understand is why.

Now don't get me wrong, i can't speak for everyone because obviously everyone has different reasons for watching YouTubers. But for a lot of people it's an escape. A place you can go to just watch someone who you know won't judge you, someone that can give you tips and tricks for things that nobody you know in real can. I know that for a lot of parents is something hard to understand, but the world has changed so much since our parents were younger. The Internet pretty much is the centre of the earth for people now. So having a place, like YouTube, to escape to is honestly a great thing.

I can't read the comments of any YouTubers social media account without seeing at least one person say that watching YouTube saved their life, and i know for some this may seem extreme but for some people it is the truth and honestly parents should be happy that their kids have this kind of escape and support. For viewers to be labelled as a group of people who 'flock' to Zoe's videos is not only annoying but it's also very rude.

This is just one post i found on Tumblr.
Now, i do think that the author of this article did just want to make a jab at Zoe because further on in the article she does make a huge emphasis on the fact that Zoe has 10 Million followers, as if it's something that is ridiculous. But honestly, she should know as an author that to create quality content, something this article clearly wasn't, isn't just a matter of randomly sitting down and writing something but is a process with a lot of dedication and preparation, just like writing a blog post or like Zoe making YouTube videos, which is why she has so many subscribers.

The fact that something like this has become so big is honestly such a joke. Obviously Zoe didn't take it to heart as the following day she did make a snapchat joking about what was said about her, which is great because the whole thing's a joke.

The media is so focused on finding things wrong with people that it is all becoming so ridiculous. So many other celebrities have posted things like this on their social media, yet it hasn't been a problem. All over the Internet, and The Sun's website, are articles about how amazing someone looks in their new bikini or how amazing their new lingerie shoot was that the fact that someone was so bothered about this picture honestly, makes me wonder why they cared so much.

I don't see anything wrong with what Zoe posted. She wasn't naked. She wasn't being vulgar. She was simply saying Goodnight to her subscribers. Something so many other YouTubers believe to. #TeamInternet has joined the #WeStandWithZoe hashtag and here are just a few of her supporters.

Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Product Review

Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Product Review

Welcome back Whisperers!

I have never really been one to buy high end makeup. Firstly because let's be honest I'm 18 and it isn't exactly cheap and to be honest I've been pretty fine with my regular drug store makeup. Don't get me wrong i love looking at high end makeup and scrolling through the websites but i never really felt like i had to get it. I still don't.

However, i was shopping in Grand Central and i went into MAC and like the many other times i have been in there i looked at the lipsticks, eyeshadow bases, foundations and then i started looking at the highlighters. At the moment highlighters are my biggest love and when i saw  Lightscapade i fell completely in love.

Lightscapade- £24
One thing that i love about all of the MAC products is the packaging. All of the packaging is black, sleek and looks beautiful. Each product comes in it's own box, which i love, because i do like to keep any high end products separate from my drugstore products and this makes that a lot easier. The plastic doesn't feel cheap and the matte finish makes it look very sleek.

The MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade is a pale shimmery highlighter. As you can see in the picture above it is a marbled mix of pink, blue, yellow and cream. When in the store the makeup assistant suggested two highlighters to me, Lightscapade and Soft and Gentle, because i am so pale i decided to stick with Lightscapade.

The product was expensive and cost me £24. However i do believe it is worth it. Comparing this highlighter to some of my drugstore alternatives i can tell the difference in quality straight away. The product is finer, more shimmery instead of glittery and is a lot easier to blend. Now don't get me wrong i still love my drugstore highlighters there is just a very obvious difference in the product.

Now i know this is an expensive product and so i thought i would do some research and try and find a more affordable dupe. Just by looking at pictures on Superdrug i did find that The Balms Cindy Lou Manizer is s very close dupe to Lightscapade, it is still quite pricey but it is cheaper than Lightscapade.

If you know any more affordable dupes or alternatives let me know below!

I am completely in love with this product and i highly suggest buying it or even just popping into a MAC store and swatching it! If you have any suggestions for MAC products i should try in the future let me know in the comments below!!

Working As A Teen

Working As A Teen

Hey Whisperers,

Today i thought that i would talk to you about working as a teen. Growing up i have been very lucky when it comes to employment and i know that some people have a really hard time finding a job and i am incredibly grateful for the opportunities i have had. I got my first job two months after i turned 16. I knew that i wanted to start working as soon as possible as obviously as a teen i wanted my own money but i also wanted experience.

I had my first ever job interview early on in September 2014 in Argos and i was terrified. I had no idea what i was doing. The interview was a group interview and pretty much consisted of us introducing ourselves, writing numbers and building a bridge out of Lego. Pretty much everything i thought an interview wouldn't be. After my interview at Argos i found out i hadn't qualified to move to the next level and started searching for other jobs.

My first job was working in a pharmacy. Looking back now i wish i could have worked there forever. The people i worked with were incredible and the store i worked in became a home away from home. It wasn't a place that i didn't want to go to, it was a place i looked forward to visiting. Obviously at the age of 16 i was still attending college and so i only worked Saturdays. I worked from 9:00am until 5:30pm every Saturday for a year and a half.

I'm not saying that working at the pharmacy was easy, it was by any means easy. I had to sit exams to gain a Health Care Assistant qualification to enable me to sell medicine and i had to do monthly multiple choice exams to ensure i stayed up to date on the medicines i was selling. However, it was completely worth it.

The main downside to working while in college was having minimal spare time. Going to college five days a week in my first year and four days a week in my second year didn't leave me with much free time to do the homework and coursework that i was being set. Sitting Two A-Levels and a BTEC whilst working Saturdays was very stressful as i only really had Sundays to do homework, coursework and study. Which was by no way enough time. In my second year of college i did struggle with revision and ended up taking it to work with me to do on my lunch hour.

One thing that i loved doing through this time was blogging. Even though blogging was part of my Media Studies coursework it felt like more of a break from life. It was so peaceful. I could just stick in my earphones and block out the world and write about what work i had done that week. Looking back now i don't think i would have got through my second year of college without it. Something that most people i know would be shocked to hear because i complained about it so much.

Leaving the pharmacy was something that to some extent i regret. I left the pharmacy to leave for university, something that if you have been here for awhile, you would know i decided not to do. After leaving the pharmacy in July i had a two month break from work and later found a job in a supermarket.

Working as a teen is something that i am so glad i did, i gained so much experience, qualifications and friends for life. So many people look at work as somewhat of a punishment, but for me it was the opposite. Having a job allowed me to have so much freedom. I was able to buy things i wanted with my money, it allowed me to learn how to manage my money and honestly allowed me to build up my self control.

As a kid you never really realise the impact of having your own money can have on you but it makes such a difference. So i guess what I'm trying to say is, if you are a teen reading this and you are wondering if you should get a job. Do it. At times it may be stressful and you may think that you can't handle it but it so worth it. The experience and life lessons you learn will outweigh all of the negatives.

Working as a teen helped me in so many ways. If you worked as a teen or are a teen looking for work let me know your experiences down below!!

I GOT MY SEPTUM PIERCED!

16:00:00 0
I GOT MY SEPTUM PIERCED!

Hey Whisperers,

If you've been here awhile you would know that i LOVE piercings and tattoos. Over the past few months i have fallen more and more in love with septum piercings. Every time i logged into my Pintrest account ( something i do daily, that site is way too addicting), i saw a septum piercing post and the more i saw it the more i fell in love.

I finally decided i was going to get it done and i  went and got it done with a friend on Saturday 12th March. Now going with a friend is something i highly suggest because going it alone would definitely make the experience a lot more daunting.

As we walked into the piercing shop and told the staff what we wanted we were faced with the statement that I'm not going to lie almost put me off. The lady behind the counter told us that she had 21 piercings in total and the septum was the most painful. Now don't get me wrong, i don't mind pain. I just wasn't ready for that statement. I almost wussed out. ALMOST.

As she went through and set up i decided that i was going to get it done.

Ok so actually getting the piercing. Me and my friend got it done at the same time because let's be honest if she had it done first i would have probably wussed out. Anyway, we went into a room and the piercers clamped our noses and found the right position for the piercing, which will definitely make your eyes water. So unlike me i suggest going in with no makeup on. When you get your septum pierced it doesn't go through the cartilage of the nose nor the skin it goes through the 'soft spot' between the two. It may sound gross but if you feel the inside of the tip of your nose you'll be able to feel it.

The small pocket between the blue strip and the nasal septum cartilage (green)
portion is the area that the septum is pierced. As you can see it is a very
small place to pierce and so  it is important to go to a well trained piercer as
it is easy to mess up a septum piercing by either piercing cartilage, not getting
the piercing straight or doing it too high or low on the nose.
After they clamped it they pierced our noses with a needle. Now, i am not going to lie to you. This was very very painful. I know it sounds dramatic but if you are thinking of getting this piercing i would prefer to tell you and you either wuss out or go for it instead of you going in and not being prepared. The pain was quick and fast however it was very painful.

If you have had any other kind of piercing you will know that the needle has a plastic tube which they then pull through the piercing and use to insert the piercing jewelry. When i had my Tragus and Helix pierced this part didn't hurt at all it was more of a sting but with my septum it hurt a lot more. After my jewelry was inserted and in place, like if you had been stabbed with a needle anywhere else i bled. I didn't bleed a lot which the piercer was shocked about but hey i didn't mind at all. After i cleaned up and paid i was all done.

However, one thing that i didn't see much on the Internet when i was researching this piercing was the after pain. After i left the piercing place and my piercing was done, of course it was tender and still is but the pain of actually getting it pierced lasted for around an hour, something that our piercer warned us about. It wasn't excruciating pain but i was definitely aware of it and it was very uncomfortable.

The aftercare tips we were given for the piercing was to clean it twice a day with a salt solution and try to touch it as little as possible. When you make the salt solution make sure you use sea salt as regular salt contains iodine. The iodine in regular salt can irritate your skin further so it is always best to stick to pure sea salt (the brand i use is the Original Cornish Sea Salt which i found at my local grocery store)

The healing time for this piercing varies on the person. My piercer said to leave the jewelry in for at least 6 months and to clean it twice a day for the whole six months. However online it does say that it can be taken out as soon as 6-12 weeks after it is pierced. I personally will be leaving it in probably until August (5 months). I plan on going back to my piercer to get her to check it before i change it because i don't want to risk anything with the piercing.

I got my piercing done at a local tattoo parlour. I got an offer on the piercing so i got it for only £10, which is an amazing price for a septum piercing as they normally cost between £20-£35. They are a very painful piercing and the aftercare is very tedious but i do highly suggest getting it done, you just have to be willing to put time into the aftercare too.

One thing i also suggest is if you have a job, checking with your workplace before you get any face piercings as some workplaces have very strict piercing policies.

As far as the healing process so far for me, i think it is doing ok. My nose is still swollen and tender, which is normal. I can move the ring and i just take ibuprofen if the pain is a little bit too much which it has only been once. I am waiting for the swelling to go down to see if i will be able to flip the piercing up for work, if i can't flip it up i may have to go back and see if she can change the jewelry for me. I will make sure to do update posts in the future to let you know if anything changes.

I know this post was a bit more detailed than my last piercing post but after researching this piercing and not having too much information i thought i would go all in for you guys.

If you're thinking about getting your septum pierced and have any other questions don't hesitate to comment below!

A Bit Of Brow Love

16:00:00 0
A Bit Of Brow Love

Hey Whisperers,

Over the past year eyebrows have become huge in the makeup world. I can't scroll down my Instagram feed without seeing a video of the perfect eyebrows or the hash tag 'eyebrows on fleek'. Up until the age of 16 i never really did anything with my eyebrows, it wasn't really a huge deal to me, then i got my eyebrows waxed. I remember being so nervous because I'd never had anything done to them before but it really wasn't bad at all. After that I started taking better care of my eyebrows. And so today i thought i would show you my favourite brow products.

My number one favourite brow product is the Soap and Glory Archery Brow Tint and Pencil in Dark Chocolate. When i first got this product i was a bit scared to use it because i had never really used anything like it before and the tint looked very intimidating. However after using it and getting used to it i fell in love. The felt tip pen for the tint is so thin that it is perfect for outlining the brows and the pencil is the perfect consistency for filling in the brows without making them look like slugs (you know the kind of brows I'm on about).

The next brow product that i love is the L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper in Dark Brown. I originally got this product to just set the brows however, after trying it i found that it can also be used if you just want a quick brow fix. The pigment in the gel helps to make your brows look fuller and it looks amazing with other products and alone. I especially love the brush on this product as it isn't very big so it helps applying it precisely, very easy.

The next thing that i love for my brows is a cream highlighter. I saw this product in Primark a few weeks ago and to be honest i never really expected much of it but it is surprisingly good for the price. This P.S Love Double-Ended Cream Highlighter Pencil is so easy to apply because of its pencil form and is also great value for the two options the pencil offers you. I have found that the matte end of the pencil is great for a base layer under the brow for any other powder highlighter and the shimmer end is great for the inner corner or brow if you want  more of a quick-natural makeup look.

Finally i always use a highlight under my brow. Most of the time i just use a light matte or shimmer eye shadow from whatever eye shadow palette i am using that day. However, if i do choose to use a highlighting powder i always reach for my Collection Highlight and Sculpt Palette. I love this highlighter as it is more of a peachy toned highlighter which makes the highlight look more natural than other 'white' highlighters i have used.

Ok, so those where a my favourite eyebrow products. If you have any products you think i should try out let me know in the comments below!

Thank you for reading!

12:00:00 0
500 VIEWS?

Hey Whisperers,

So after i logged onto my account to check how my blog has been doing i saw that i have hit over 500 views! WHAT?!. In the past month i have loved blogging about makeup, life and random bits and bobs and i can't believe that my blog has been viewed 500 times.

Honestly, when i first started blogging i was so sure that i would only get three views from the three people who i knew read my blog ( you know who you are :P ) , but as the views have grown i have been nothing but shocked. One thing i love about Blogger is that you can see where in the world people are reading your blog and i'm not going to lie i often freak out about where my blog is being read.

My blog has been viewed in these places to date (09-03-16);

1- United Kingdom - home
2- United States - 4393.32 Miles
3- Ireland - 272.34 Miles
4-Poland - 889.45 Miles
5-Ukraine- 1470.35 Miles
6-Czech Republic- 773.57 Miles
7-Croatia- 927.82 Miles
8-Mexico- 5367.47 Miles
9-Berlin- 643.07 Miles
10-India - 4724.92 Miles

I know looking at these places it doesn't exactly look like much but when you think about how far away most of these countries are from me it's insane. Looking at those numbers seriously makes me both so excited to think that my blog has reached places so far away but also thankful for the people who have read it.

Anyways, i just wanted to write this little post to say thank you to everyone who has helped me hit 500 views!

Comment down below where you're from because i'd love to know!!

You're Beautiful

11:00:00 2
You're Beautiful

Hey Whisperers,

Today i thought i would talk about something that right now seems to be a huge thing in the media. I say right now but let's be honest it's always something that's big in the media. Weight. The big W word.

Growing up I've never really been one of those people who cared about my weight, I'm just me and that's just how I've always seen it. However over the past few years I've started to mature and look at my body in a different way, i started looking at under a microscope. I started over analysing every part of my body.

My skin, my weight, my hair, my eyes. Soon enough i wanted to change it all.

I realised quite early on in life that my body is far from what people in society would consider 'perfect' or even 'okay'. I am not a size 0 i am not a size 10.  Now don't get me wrong i don't hate my body, i just don't love it. I do wish i could shed a few pounds and i do wish i could look as amazing as the people i see on my instagram feed in a bikini.

But I know i'm not skinny and even more so i know that it's okay.

If i was to post a picture of my body on instagram, i would probably be called disgusting and gross. But to me my body is just my body. I see so many people on Tumblr, Instagram and Facebook striving to become what society deems as perfect and it is so unrealistic. Don't get me wrong I think that people who are skinny look just as amazing as someone who is a size 20 but the standards that society and the media have set for young girls is insane.

For me growing up i never really fell in love with a female celebrity, i didn't strive to look like someone i had seen in magazines because when i was younger that wasn't really something i wanted to do. But as i got older i started to become more interested in the media and i became addicted to looking at what people like the Kardashian Sisters were wearing and their body types, but yet still i didn't want to look like them.

I love the way that celebrities like Kim Kardashian look, i think that their bodies are beautiful but i don't think that it is something that someone should strive to become. I think that people should instead strive to become better versions of themselves. If people want to lose weight good for them and i wish them well in that journey. But if people don't want to lose weight and are happy with their bodies whether they're a size 4 or 20 they should be allowed to they should be allowed to feel empowered and sexy no matter what their size.

As long as they are happy why does what other people think matter?

I so often see people's instagram comments full of  hate for their bodies and it makes me so upset. I can't scroll down my tumblr feed without seeing a girl posting pictures of anorexic girls with #bodygoals and it makes me sad, because when i click on their profile and look at them i can see how beautiful they are but they don't. I know that it is hard to love yourself, it took me so long to even be able to look in the mirror and think that i looked ok. But everybody is beautiful in their own way.

I have one celebrity body crush and that is Demi Lovato. Now i know she is a very popular idol for young women but i can't help but admire her. After all that she has been through she is nothing but an inspiration for me. She knows the importance of health and self-love and she uses her platform as a celebrity to help other people love themselves and i admire her so much for that.

So i guess the point in today's post was to just let you know that you're beautiful. When you look in the mirror today, don't frown and think of all the things you wish you could change. Pick out all the things you love. Because you may not be your ideal weight but you are incredibly beautiful and i can guarantee there's somebody else in your life who thinks so too.

If you're sitting there today hating your body, just know that i think you are perfect. You are you, you are original and you are perfect.  There's only one you, so take a little time today to love yourself. Because i do.

What I Want This Blog To Be + Uploading Schedule

What I Want This Blog To Be + Uploading Schedule
Hey Whisperers,

After my break from blogging i realised that if i'm going to do this i need to get serious about it. Over the past few days i've been compiling lists of posts i want to do and projects i want to work on. The first thing i wanted to do was change the look of my blog, which if you've been here before, you'll notice i did. I absolutely love this new theme and i think it is a lot more like me than the last theme i had. If you want any other information on my theme comment down below or message me, honestly finding a theme took me ages so i don't mind helping anyone else with figuring out because let's face it html coding takes a lot of time aha.

Anyways, back to what this  posts  really about. My Uploading Schedule. I realised pretty soon that daily posts wasn't going to work for me and so i have decided to post three times a week.

On Tuesdays i will be doing Beauty posts where i will be reviewing, trying out and talking about new products i love.

On Thursdays i will be doing Lifestyle posts, where i will be talking about things i've been doing, places i've been, advice, rants and a lot of other things.

And Finally, Sunday's are going to be my free day, where i can post anything i want, Beauty, Lifestyle, Blogging Updates, Milestones, anything.

I think that having this structure will help not only me as a blogger but you as a reader to understand my blogs more, which is obviously what i want.

Another thing i've been thinking about a lot is what i want this blog to be. My goal for this blog is for it to be a place where people can come and escape their lives for a while. Chill out and be free because i know sometimes life gets hectic and you just want to take a moment to calm down and escape from life. I want whoever enters my little corner of the internet to feel safe, to feel like they can talk freely without being judged. I want this to be an escape for not just me as a blogger but for you as a reader, and if this blog becomes an escape for even just one person I will have reached my goal.

Anyways, i hope that you enjoyed this rambling post! If you have any other questions about my uploading schedule or blog goals don't hesitate to contact me, after all this is all for you!!

My Skincare Addiction

My Skincare Addiction

Hey Whisperers,

So recently I've become obsessed with skincare. Before now i never really paid much attention to skincare, putting on makeup without moisturising or priming and wiping it off at the end of the night with a baby wipe or makeup wipe. Looking back now i realise how much damage this did to my skin, the amount of makeup i left to settle in my pores day after day was probably the reason for the majority of my acne problems.

However, over the past few months i have fell in love with skincare. Each day i look forward to that half an hour of a night where i take the time to look after my skin and get rid of all the makeup I've been  wearing that day. And so today i thought i would let you guys know some of my favourite skincare products.

My favourite skincare products.

My all time favourite product is probably the Soap and Glory, Peaches and Clean cleansing milk. This stuff is AMAZING. I used to wash my face with the Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit face wash but ever since trying this stuff I haven't gone back. The smell of this product is amazing and after a long day of wearing makeup it takes it off with little to no effort, something that i love. Because lets face it nobody wants to spend ages scrubbing at their face trying to get their foundation off. This product is a lot thicker than other products i have used because it is a cleansing milk but i love it because it just feels so moisturising on the skin.

When it comes to eye makeup, i wear my fair share. I wear eyeliner daily, whether it's winged or regular i love it and so a good eye makeup remover is a must for me. This Camomile Gentle Eye Makeup Remover from The Body Shop is the most amazing eye makeup remover i have ever used. I first started using this product in August 2015 and I've been hooked ever since. The camomile leaves the eyelids and under eye feeling so soft and moisturised and although this product does cost £9 the size of the product is well worth it as you only need a small amount each time you use it.

Another thing i have fell completely in love with is micellar water. I switch out between two micellar waters daily, the B. Pure Micellar Water and the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, it really just depends on what's closer. My favourite of the two however is the B. Pure Micellar Water. After washing my face i use this product on a cotton pad and the amount of extra makeup that comes off is both amazing and disgusting. However, one of the main reasons i love this product is because it is a lot more gentle than the Garnier alternative, which, if i am having a bad skin day is something i prefer.

Ok, so this product isn't something i use daily but i do love using from time to time. One thing i find that happens with my skin is every few weeks it will just feel very clogged and dirty, no matter how much i wash it and so i like using a mask to help clear out any extra dirt from my pores. This Pore Penetrating, Black Mineral Mask from Avon is a great cheap face mask to use. The consistency is thick which i love and it dries fast. I also love this product as it is part of the Avon Clear Skin range which helps to prevent breakouts which i tend to get often.

One of my most recent finds and loves is the Clean and Clear, Dual Action Moisturiser. The first thing that drew me to this product was that it is Oil-Free, something i look for in products as i have very oily skin. The first time i used this product i fell in love, after applying it it absorbed into my skin very well and left my face feeling so fresh. I also love the fact that it both moisturises and helps to prevent breakouts.

Primer. I know that this isn't technically a skincare product but i thought i would throw it in here anyway. Using a primer has allowed me to keep my pores a lot less clogged with makeup. I think that using a primer is a huge must when wearing makeup as it helps create a base layer between the skin and products which in turn helps to protect your pores from the makeup, my favourite primer being the Barry M Flawless Colour Correcting Primer. And obviously, primer also helps makeup last a lot longer which is always a positive.

Setting spray, although yet again this product isn't technically a skincare product i thought i would include it. I love using a makeup setting spray, my favourite being the Avon Magix Prime and Set Spray, as it helps me add another barrier to my makeup. Personally, i think that using a setting spray adds just another level of protection to your skin as it helps to keep out any other unwanted dirt from your face and pores whilst also helping to set your makeup.

Finally, i LOVE lipbalms. I apply lip balm before i start applying my makeup and throughout the day if I'm not wearing lipstick which most of the time I'm not. However, because i do love Matte lipsticks so much i have found that having a good lip balm is a must if you want your lips to stay crack free and moisturised. Two of my favourite lipbalms are the MUA Sweet Sheen Lip balm in Peach Sheen and the Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm in Peach Kiss. I love both of these lipbalms because while they both moisturise the lips amazingly they also both add a hint of colour to lips which is always nice. They also both smell amazing, the MUA Lip balm smells like cocoa butter and the Baby Lips lip balm smells very strongly like Peaches.

I hope you've enjoyed reading about my skincare favourites, if you have any skincare products you think i should try let me know in the comments below!

Soph xoxo

Finding myself as a blogger

Finding myself as a blogger

Hey Whisperers,

It's been awhile since i wrote a post and honestly i don't know why. When i first started blogging i was completely in love, i still am, but i threw myself into blogging and it was all i cared about. As time went on i realised i wouldn't be able to keep up the daily blogging, something i really wanted to do.

Becoming a blogger was something i never thought would be so difficult. Planning posts, pictures, links, labels, editing, watermarking, scheduling there are so many things i didn't think about before i dived straight in. Don't get me wrong they don't make me love blogging any less, if anything they make me love it more.

They just make the whole process a little more rewarding.

Since starting this blog i have never been so happy, but at the same time i have never felt so drained. Compared to other bloggers my posts are nothing but notes, but for me they are a lot. I put so much into my posts and i am such a perfectionist about them that sometimes it even annoys me.

A lot of the posts i have posted so far have been about stuff that yes i love, but things that i think people would like to read. I think that i needed to take the time away that i have to realise that this is my blog, something that may seem obvious but for me wasn't the easiest thing for me to realise.

I've been blogging now for almost a month and I'm still so new to the blogging world but i have already learnt so much and i thought i would share a few of those things with you.

Things i have learnt in the past month of blogging-

Photo editing- For the past two years of my life i studied Media in sixth form/college, and i fell head over heels in love with editing. Video editing, photo editing, audio editing. Before i started editing my blog pictures i pretty much thought that most of the instagram filters and simple photo shop filters were the best thing to quickly edit pictures but i have learnt that there are so many more ways to create higher quality pictures.

Watermarking pictures -  My blog may be small but i put so much work into my posts and pictures that i don't want to risk them being stolen ( even though it's pretty unlikely).

Managing social media- Ok, don't get me wrong, before i started this blog i wasn't completely oblivious to the social media world but i have never had to manage an account that stood for something other than, random selfies and pictures of things i find mildly cool.

Views aren't everything- I'm not going to lie, every blogger wants their blog to be successful, for the hard work they put in to pay off. But views really aren't everything. It is nice to check my stats and see the numbers creeping up but it doesn't mean your blog isn't good if it doesn't get views straight away. You have to work to achieve your goals.

I guess what i am saying is that although blogging may be a long process, it is completely worth it.

Although i have enjoyed my time away from blogging i am so ready to be back to my mindless rambles and reviews in my little corner of the Internet. I am still trying to find myself as a blogger and a person and i know i may not fit into the blogging world too well, but i enjoy the journey i am on and i can't wait to continue.

Thank you for reading,
Soph xoxo
