My Netflix Addiction - What I'm Watching Right Now

Hey Whisperers,

There is nothing quite like binge watching a series on Netflix, it's just something so comforting and cozy and well it's pretty much been my life over the past few weeks. Whether it's my ridiculous back pain or just a cozy night in I've spent hours upon hours binge watching series on Netflix and so today i thought I'd share some of the ones I've been loving.

What I'm Watching Right Now

13 Reasons Why

If you haven't heard of this series where have you been?! I was pulled into watching this series after I saw it all over twitter and Instagram and I am so glad that i was. 13 Reasons Why is a Netflix Original show adapted from a book about a girl who committed suicide and left behind 13 tapes with 13 reasons why she killed herself. Talking about this show without spoiling it is so hard but it is honestly one of the most amazing, important and most incredible shows i have ever watched. Now before you watch it I do have to say that it does contain some sensitive topics and it has quite a few graphic scenes so if you are triggered by themes such as sexual abuse or self harm please be careful when watching this series, it is an amazing series but it is not worth sacrificing your own mental health and well being to watch.

Pretty Little Liars

If you've been a reader of my blog for awhile you'll know that I'm a huge fan of this series. I've been watching it since the start and I love it. If you haven't heard of the show it is a series about 4 teenage girls who begin receiving anonymous texts after the murder of their best friend Alison. The texts then spiral into a whirlwind of threats, attacks and deaths. The show can be slow at times but it's definitely one of my favourite shows. It returned last week to start the next and final series of the show.

Grimm

I started watching this show a few years ago but I somehow got distracted and stopped watching it. Last week i got back into watching it and I'm in love all over again. Grimm is a sci-fi show about a Portland PD Detective who finds out that he is a descendant of hunters who are  supposed to keep the city safe from magical creatures. It's an action packed show and it definitely keeps you guessing about whats going to happen next. If anything i suggest watching the pilot episode because it definitely has you on the edge of your seat.

Girl Boss

Girl Boss is a more recent show that has been added to Netflix. So far i haven't got a strong opinion on it but it does have some funny jokes and the fact that Ru Paul is in it had me sold on watching it. The show is centred around a girl who recently lost her job and searches for a way to find a new job without actually having to go out and getting one. This leads to her starting an EBay store called Nasty Gal Vintage. The show is based on the book Girl Boss which was written by Sophia Amorous about how she created the now insanely popular Nasty Gal. So far I'm liking the show but it is quite slow to get into.

As you can tell I'm pretty much obsessed with Netflix right now! If you have any recommendations don't forget to leave them in the comments below!

Models Own Sculpt and Glow Highlighter Review

Hey Whisperers,

Everyone loves a good glow right? So when i saw this Models Own highlighter I knew i had to swatch it and as soon as i swatched it i knew i had to have it. I kept it out of my highlighter collection that i posted a few weeks ago (read here) as i wanted to dedicate a post solely to it as I'm pretty much obsessed with it. So let's get into it.

Models Own Sculpt and Glow Highlighting Powder Review

Packaging

The highlighter i picked up was the Models Own Sculpt and Glow highlighter in 01 Golden Sand. I love how sleek and pretty the packaging of this product is. It's an iridescent white shade that just looks and feels so high end and on the top it has the Models Own logo in a metallic silver (which i clearly forgot to take a picture off). One thing i love most about this product is that it magnetically closes which is new for me in a powder product. If you know me i tend to drop and break my powder products but this has been one that i have managed to keep together thanks to the magnet. Another thing i love is the mirror, having a mirror in a 'drugstore' powder product is pretty rare but this mirror is the perfect size and I love it.

Product + Price

Now this highlighter is like nothing else i own. It's super pigmented, so much so that you only have to dip your brush into the compact and you have enough for your whole cheek bone (or if you're me 2 dips is enough).  I don't really know why it's called Golden Sand as for me it's nowhere near a Golden colour and is instead more of a peachy/champagne colour which i think is perfect for people with a shade of skin to me (aka ghostly). It's super shimmery but it isn't at all glittery which i find hard to find in a drugstore highlighter. The price of this product is also pretty amazing as it only costs £8.99! Which for this quality is amazing. I did get mine a little cheaper as it was on offer when i brought it which made it even more amazing.

Swatch Time

I always find swatching highlighters difficult but hopefully you can tell how amazing this product is. In the picture it does look quite gold but in person it's definitely more peach. To do this swatch i pretty much swiped once across the compact and as you can see it was more than enough product for me to swatch. The product isn't at all dry or chunky which i love and I'm pretty sure it's going to last a long time due to how pigmented it is.

Overall I am completely in love with this product, it looks gorgeous on the cheeks and for the price i honestly have no complaints. I definitely recommend trying it out in store as it's definitely worth it!

I hope you've enjoyed this post!

Spring Wishlist 2017

Hey Whisperers,

Over the past few weeks there's been a few things that I've seen, loved, put back and added to my wishlist. I don't treat myself often so instead i add things to my never ending wishlist and then when i have the money i buy one thing to treat myself and so today i thought i would share my spring wishlist with you guys! I hope you enjoy.

My Spring Wishlist

This collaboration looks incredible, I've been a huge fan of Nikkie for a few years now and to see her release a collection with such an big brand is amazing. All of the colours look gorgeous and i mean come on look at that highlighter! I don't know if i will be getting this collection mainly because I am trying to save up my money and this is quite a big purchase at £55 but it is definitely staying on my Wishlist.

I saw this dress on Boohoo recently and i fell in love. I buy the same thing year in year out when it comes to spring/summer clothes but this year i want to change it up a bit. I want to add more dresses and skirts into my wardrobe and this dress looks perfect for it. It's also super affordable as it's only £18

I am in love with this perfume, so much that I've gone through 2 bottles in the past year. It's just such a perfect sweet scent that i can't help but love it. The cheapest bottle of this perfume is £31 on it's own but the gift set is only £16.99 so if you want to try it out i definitely recommend getting the gift set instead.

I've been eyeing up the Kat Von D Everlasting Lipsticks for a while but because they are pretty pricey at  £17 i want to make sure i get the perfect shade for me. Looking at online swatches I've fallen in love with both Lolita II and Bow and Arrow. They're both such beautiful nudes but they still have that super different colour which i love in a lipstick.

Primark Chip Tea Cup

#ChipGate is seriously a thing, i have been looking for this Chip mug since it was released in March but i still haven't found it. I absolutely love Beauty and the Beast and Chip is one of my all time favourite characters, this mug sold out within hours and i can totally understand why. It's just so god damn cute and for £5 it's definitely a steal!

So many cute things and so little time and money to get them with! I can't wait too see what i actually end up purchasing off this list as i've loved creating it,

Birchbox Unboxing - April 2017

Hey Whisperers,

If you've read any of my other Birchbox Unboxings you'll know that I'm head over heels with this subscription box, each month it's like I'm getting a gift from me to me and lets be honest everyone loves a gift every now and then. I've been super impressed with the boxes I've received up until now, some more than others but this box has definitely beat them all, so lets get into it!

What is Birchbox?

If you're new to Birchbox, Birchbox is a monthly subscription box that you receive each month with 5 products to try out. The products can range from sample size to full size and they also range in price. All products in the box can be found on the Birchbox website where the box is purchased for £12.95 each month.

What I Got This Month

RRP - £23.50

I'm obsessed with this product. I love trying out new facial scrubs and this one is definitely one of the best I've tried. It has super fine 'beads' in that help clear your face of any dead skin and it left my face feeling incredible. I've never heard of Arctic Cotton but apparently it's super moisturising which is always a plus in a scrub! This is definitely one of my favourite products in the box this month.

RRP - £20

First of all, this spray smells incredible. One thing i hate about so many hair products is the way they smell but this spray smells so good. I don't really have much of a use for it when it comes to texturizing but I've been using it since i opened the box just to make my hair smell nice. It's a pretty decent size for a sample too!

RRP - £15.90

Now I'm not a big fan of lotions, as honestly I'm super lazy and no patience when it comes to them sinking in but the packaging of this product immediately grabbed my attention when i opened the box, i mean just look at how gorgeous it is! I don't however like the scent, it's got that floral scent that reminds me of my Nan. This will definitely be the kind of product that I'll either use as a prop or that I'll just keep in my drawer and never use.

RRP - £8.95

I was so excited when i saw this product in my box, over the past few months I've been seeing pretty much everyone use colour correctors but i just haven't been able to find one when I've been out shopping and now i have this amazing one! I've used it a few times already and it makes such a difference under my eyes. It's also a full size product which is amazing as this makes up for almost 2/3 of the price of the box already in just one product!

Manna Kadar Cosmetics High Definition Powder
Full Size RRP - £27

Now first of all can we just look at the price of this powder £27, and it's full size WHAT?! That's pretty much the price of 2 boxes straight away! This powder is amazing, it leaves my skin looking super smooth and matte but it isn't super drying either so i don't look as if my skin is about to flake off, you only need a tiny amount of this powder because it is so pigmented. For £27 it definitely isn't something I'm going to repurchase as it is so tiny but it's an amazing product to receive in a box!

Total RRP for this month's Box

£105.35

I told you this month was a great box! With 2 Full Size makeup items and 3 amazing sample size products too it's definitely been one of the best boxes I've got so far! In the box i did also recieve a £10  gift voucher to Boden.com which is definitely amazing considering the fact that the box itself costs £12.95.

My Current Skincare Routine

Hey Whisperers,

Over the past few months i've been switching up my skincare routine in an attempt to combat my oh so lovely face demons. Now my face is no where near as clean as i want it to be (aka the unrealistic clear, smooth skin i dream of) but comparing it to how it used to be a few months ago it is doing so much better. My routine is pretty simple and easy so i hope you enjoy!

My Skincare Routine

I pretty much use the Soap and Glory The Fab Pore Foam Cleanser to take my makeup off every day. I do still use my Easy Demaq cloth (learn more about that here) to take off the majority of my makeup but you definitely still need to use a face wash. I love this face wash because as the name says it's a foam so it feels super gentle on my skin which i love. At £8 for 200ml i know it isn't the cheapest face wash but my last bottle got me though 3 months of makeup removal so it's definitely worth it. This cleanser does contain witch hazel which i definitely think has helped with my skin too.

Up next is another Soap and Glory product, this is the Soap and Glory Face Soap and Clarity 3 in 1 Vitamin C Facial Wash. This face wash is amazing, it makes my skin feel super smooth and it's amazing to use after the foam wash. One thing i love about this face wash is that it's non-drying, I've used so many different face washes that have made my face dry up completely and it's horrible but instead of drying my face out this one adds even more moisture to it!

Now for the product that i am most in love with. Coconut Oil. I know, I'm late to the trend yet again but this stuff is incredible. If you follow me on Twitter you'll know that i originally brought this for oil pulling/teeth whitening but a few weeks ago i decided to use it as a moisturiser as I'd seen Lisa Cimorelli (aka my favourite person ever) using it and saying that it was the reason she had such clear and smooth skin. Now if you don't like greasy feeling moisturisers you're definitely going to hate this one as it does take quite a while to sink into the skin but i promise it is 100% worth it. I had been using both of the face washes for 2 months before trying this beauty and although they helped, nothing cleared up my skin as much as this. It's incredible.

Pamper Time

Like everyone else, i love to have a pamper night every now and again and of course this includes treating my skin to a little face mask. I've pretty much been using these three over the past few months so i thought I'd throw them in this post too.

The three masks I'm pretty much obsessed with are -

 Elizavecca Carbonated Bubble Clay mask
Elizavecca Gold CF-Nest Collagen Jella Pack Mask.

Each mask has a different formula with the Lush mask being a thick exfoliating mask, the bubble mask being a jelly foaming mask and the gold mask being a clear peel off mask. Each and every one of these masks leave my skin feeling absolutely incredible. I do have super sensitive skin too and they don't irritate it at all which is amazing considering how many masks I've had to give away in the past. I recommend all of them, especially the bubble clay mask because it's not only a great pamper treat but it's also a super fun experience too (full review here)

So that was my skincare routine, its super easy and fast but it's also super effective too!

DISCLAIMER-
I haven't linked you to either of the Elizavecca products as I couldn't find the exact products online. If you do order these products do be careful as there's a lot of fake versions of these products that can be very dangerous for your skin. I found both of mine at TKMaxx. Always check the box of an Elizavecca product for the scratch off identification code which shows that it is an authentic Elizavecca product. Please be  careful with what you are ordering.
